Do you have a Nordstrom in your area? They carry a lot of things like that including Spanx, they might have some of the new (thinner) Spanx.
Have a great weekend!!
To be completely honest with you, I would just stick with the strapless bra. You look so super-fit in your dress, there’s no need for Spanx. I find Spanx to be thick and uncomfortable 🙁
But yes, if you are set on Spanx, you can get them at department stores, or even a cheaper brand at Target.
spanx is a lot like seamless pantyhose. I think it’ll be the thinest thing you can find. The “higher power” one will go up to your bra line so there is no line where it ends at the waist.
You really don’t need it but if you must: I would just go to Target and get Spanx’s lower line. If you’re never going to wear it again, why spend the $$$$.
Love your dress.
@hotchildinthecity:Thanks 🙂 That’s kind of why I’m looking for something really thin. I want to be able to wear something under my dress and the material isn’t super thick so when I wear any underwear you can see lines.
@Mrs.Oat:Oh we do have a Nordstrom’s Rack and they do carry spanx. I just wanted to make sure that they were really thin because I previously bought the knockoff brand from Target and they felt really thick.
@CatyLady:Really? No I’m not 100% sure. I really love how smooth it looks without all of the extra “stuff” underneath. Maybe I should try it on the other way again to compare.
Basically what I’m trying to find is something that allows me to not be completely bare underneath my dress without giving me lines like underwear does. I’m not looking for anything to suck me in…I’ve just found that any underwear I’ve tried has given me an obvious line.
I think spanx feel thick too. I bought a strapless slip at macy’s (elastic so still form fitting) and that was really thin.
@Running Elley: Yeah, I only say that from the crinoline drama I had. I tried a hooped one on and didn’t like it, but I was too hasty in doing this. For example here’s my dress on another bride with a hooped crinoline and on me with a layered crinoline. I went back to the shop and they swapped it to a hoop for me.
@Running Elley: spanx have their skinny britches line and they are super thin and really dont suck you in at all. they are really light and comfortable. you could wear them with any underwear to get rid of the underwear line or you could wear them without underwear. Good luck!
