So I was browsing the dresses before and after thread and I noticed something really funny. Most posters on this board, when showing people their dresses from shopping/fittings, will cut off/scribble over their faces. I assume this is to remain anonymous/protect themselves? However, I constantly see the same people freely share engagement/wedding photos where you can clearly see their faces.
Is it just that you think you look THAT bad in your fitting/trying on pictures that you need to cut off your faces? I’ve yet to see an ugly girl on here! =)

@kswiftbride: I did it because at first I wasn’t sure I wanted to post my face on here (and just in case my now Darling Husband stumbled upon the site I didn’t want him to see me in my dress before the wedding).
After getting more comfortable on the site (and meeting some bees in person) I decided I felt ok posting my wedding photo recaps with my face in them.

For myself, it’s just because not many people that I know have seen the dress, and won’t see it until the wedding, so on the off chance that they happen to be on the Bee, I want to keep it a secret until the big day!

I blotted my face out because I want to remain anonymous…and the only wedding photo I have of my Darling Husband and I, really doesn’t show much of my face. Maybe once I get more comfortable with the site, I’ll show the rest of my face lol

I haven’t showed my face yet on this site and don’t ever really plan to. We’ll see. I was super lame at the last Toronto Meet-Up and insisted that I take the photo, haha. I would like to remain annonymous!
I have a feeling that the same people who scribble their faces out are usually not the ones posting the recaps.

I think its a comfort thing.
I wasnt going to even post my dress because it is an open form….and then I posted my face. It’s weird and kinda scary and I wouldn’t care if it was a closed form but now Im used to it.

I was doing it because I didn’t want anyone to see me in my gown, especially since my photos come up when you google it. Now that I know my Fiance won’t exactly be hunting it down, I’m more open about it.

@kswiftbride: I have cut off/blurred my face in all of my dress photos. I haven’t shared engagement photos ect. and I’m not planning to unless I block out my face. I don’t want potential employers ect to figure out who I am. I do have a crazy theory that another friend will get engaged and figure out my identity, but that wouldn’t be so bad because I don’t trash talk my friends. I think the worst thing I’ve said is complaining about Future Mother-In-Law (who I adore) not liking my colors. But I have shared things on the intimacy boards I want to not be linked to me. Oh and as far as recaps go, I plan on posting just details shots, like the flowers and cake ect. but not any couple/group shots.
