They’ve seen your transcripts, so they probably know you don’t have background in it!  Maybe they just want to train someone fresh in their own methods/style?  Either way, you’ll do great!  Congrats!

@clumsylawyer:  Smart idea!  This is fairly common, I think!  A bunch of our lawyer friends went through the same deal, and they all hit the ground running and are doing great. The two firm thing is awesome too… hopefully they don’t work you too hard!  🙂

Even if you would have taken the class in college, you would still be just as clueless as you feel now. I try to pretend like all that money I spent on my undergrad and masters is actually useful, but everything I know in my job I most certainly did not know before I started. Good luck, you will be great!
