So I had the strangest dream last night. NH and I were at our ceremony, when all of a sudden one of his groomsmen stepped out of place and shouted, “I object!” Before you know it, another friend has stepped out and decided that he also objects. Whaaaaa?! It made me wonder, has this happened to anyone in real life?? Have you been at the “altar” and someone’s actually objected to your getting married? What happened next? I feel like this scene is ripe for the soap opera circuit, but is it real life??

aekc: No, but I really wanted to say that at my friends’ wedding rehersal as a joke — I object that this didn’t happen sooner, etc.
However, I’m not a lawyer and the priest didn’t ask if anyone had any objections. Also, they both would have killed me.

Lol, I always thought my Fiance would object when I got married (we were friends for a long time and dated other people before realizing we were good together) i imagine whoever objects gets dragged away lol

Ok I admit..I did do it at my sister’s wedding when I was 20. It was a little chapel with only 10 of us and we were messing around with each other before. So when the officiant asked if anyone objects, I just blurted out “Can we think about it?”, her jaw dropped and she turned around and said “i’m going to kill you” …alll on video tape! I have no idea why I said it. It was not planned.
She always swore she’d get me back, so with my wedding I MADE SURE they did not even ASK the question. hehehe
We do still laugh about it all the time.
