I posted about me & my FI painting an accent wall last night, and later got to thinking how I could now decorate these walls. They're in the dining room. I'm just not sure what would look good with these colors, so for those of you ladies who LOVE decorating, could I get some tips?!?! I've looked on younghouselove & I can't seem to get enough inspiration!

Thanks so much for your help!! It's really all I can think about today. Some people have suggested a mirror but I'm afraid it may be TOO simple?!?! Thanks guys!

Something cheap and nice my fiance and I did was these tubes with bamboo - we got the tubes for like 3 bucks each at www.cb2.com - then bought a bag of stones..then bought the spiral bamboo for $1 each at the local bodega....we get alot of compliments and they were cheap.....probably look better on a smaller wall...or could look nice with something else!

I would do big splashy canvas prints of vineyards or something like that (but I'm a total wino).

@DDW: Good idea! I actually work in a sign shop & we can print out canvas prints here very easily. I just don't know how many would be TOO many!

& thanks @Lauren...your idea is great! I agree that it would work on a smaller wall, but I could def. use it somewhere in my apartment! :)

You could do two big canvas prints on the longer wall

and then like 3 little ones staggered on the shorter wall

ETA: I'm really curious, what's the white box near the ceiling? Outlet, light switch and .... ?

@Lees... I'm a fan of the wall photo collage... (and our walls aren't this pea-green in real life!) lol

@DDW: Haha, good question...FI painted around that last night & I even talked about being careful to not get any paint on it, but the whole time I never asked what it was?!?! I'll find out & let you know, I'm curious too! LOL

@JeniRae: I love the collage of pictures! Good idea, but I don't think I could fill up the whole wall with those, could I? I mean, how would I place them?!?! Do yall think floating shelves would look good? If so...what color?

@LaborofLove: Very good idea! Haven't thought of that. Thanks for the advice!!!

At my old apartment, I decorated the walls with wallpaper samples and clip frames, and I got so many compliments on it.  For my hallway, shown below on the bottom, I chose a range of greens and blues and browns, basically just any wallpaper that had a pretty pattern.  Behind my desk, I chose a range of pinks/reds/champagnes/browns.  I had a range of sizes of frames, and repeated the paper across a couple of frames each.  It was a cheap way to bring color into my place, since I couldn't paint.

Have you thought about vinyl wall decals?  I plan on getting one for our guest bedroom.  They're so many different ones to choose from.

A mirror would be nice in your dinning room as well.

I like @jeniraes idea of picture wall....we have it in our living room (just over the couch area) and then I also do like the idea of floating shelfs. Color? how about a simple white or brown or black? and then get matching frames and maybe a mirror? a mirror can really open up a room and make it look big!

I really want these for my place but since we are in apt I don't want to deal with the holes in my wall when we leave.

I found these at Target.  I just searched "Shelves"

Like others, I am a big fan of picture collages on walls. For the first pic you could do big pictures and have them at an "L" going from one wall to the next, I think that would look very nice (simple, modern, not cluttered.) Also, I think big black and white pictures would look really nice with the color of your walls.

Or the second picture collage on just one wall.
