@FutureMrsPrim:  I think they look awesome, definitely not a bad look. I am an icing girl so I would want more icing. But for taste, not looks. those are beautiful.

It’s not really my style but I could definitely see it fitting into a rustic barn themed wedding.

@FutureMrsPrim:  I think that they look fantastic when they’re done well.  If they’re done poorly they can be really messy, but the examples you’ve shown look lovely.

I really like naked cakes! But like soinlove79 said, I’m far too into icing to have one. It sounds like it will fit you two though!

I think this one is nice. I doubt I’ll go naked cake, but it’s on my Pinterest board anyhow.

@FutureMrsPrim:  I’ll be honest, that would make me nervous, but hoepfully your baker is experienced enough to know they can pull it off.  I think the most important factor is being able to cake the cakes out of the pan with clean edges.  As long as they can do that, you should be fine.

Those are pretty, but it’s going to take someone experianced to get it right.  I’d say go for it.

I’ve never seen a naked cake I liked. They always look unfinished.

But, if that’s your thing, go for it!

I like the first two examples you posted – those are quite pretty!  I think they’re a great solution if a couple dislikes fondant and frosting.  Only problem is, you wouldn’t be able to choose as many flavours as a “cloaked” cake, but if that doesn’t matter to you, I say go for it!

They remind me of ice cream sammiches!

I think they look artsy and cool. The taste is the more important factor anyhow.
