@SweetRose2011: It can't hurt to give him a call/e-mail and set up an interview.
As long as you know the company is legit, what do you have to lose in talking to a few people?
I agree to set up an interview and see what it's about. In the end, if it doesn't seem like it's for you, you can always decline the offer.
Hooray for the insurance industry!! It's how I met my DH and it continues to feed and clothe us :) Seriously though, that sounds like an awesome gig, I would totally take him up on it even if you do it while searching for your 'real' job. But who knows, you may end up loving it based on how nice you say he is and insurance is so awesome!! (sarcasm, but seriously love it!!)
Give him a call and set up an interview and if everything is legit go for it! :)
Definitely follow up on that. After how you were feeling last week - this sure looks like a sign to me!
I've been in the insurance industry since I was 20, and I love it! I would say, set up a time to meet with him to discuss the position. Good luck!!
i'd say definitely go for it! it could always lead to something even bigger/better.
That's awesome, definitely follow up! You never know what opportunity may come from it!
Still thinking about it an how less stressful it might be!
Thank all of you ladies for the encouragement to at least try and go for it
The insurance agency is located all over the midwest and they have a website so I know they are legit.
That sounds awesome!!! Congrats!! Definitely follow up and don't hesitate to ask specifics about what you'd be responsible for, what they're looking for, etc. It also wouldn't hurt to call the Better Business Bureau just to be safe. Even if it's a legit company, I would want to be sure it's also reputable and that no major complaints are on file, etc. Can't hurt!! Do you know anyone who has insurance through them and could give you an idea of what they think?
Congrats love!!!! Im happy for you :D Sending you all the luck in the world, and go for it!
Sounds really good, I would check it out if I were you. You don't have anything to lose!

Funny how things work when you least expect them to.
The other day I was just telling FI that I really need a new job. I love the job I have, don't get me wrong. But I've been there for four years and just don't see myself moving up any time soon. It's not that I don't want it, it's that I don't feel I'm going to get picked over anyone else for the next up position. It's frustrating because I know I work my ass off and I just don't feel as appreciated as I know I could be (or should be).
Anyways, one of our regular customers came through drive through today (I work at a coffee shop) and asked me how my schooling is going. He's really friendly and so am I so we've chatted about weekends and me getting married and school and such before. I told him how it's been going lately and that I'm sad for class to be ending this summer but that I won't be going back in the fall due to the wedding and taking time of. He then told me that there is an opening available at his job. I was curious why he was telling me this but then he told me that his secretary would be leaving him in Dec/Jan and while he was sad to let her go, that I have an amazing personality. He indicated that he would like for me to be on his team and gave me his business card.
I can't stop thinking about it. This customer is extremely sweet and I've never ever seen him cranky before. He works for a local insurance agency. I've never had really any other job besides this one and a waitressing job for a few months so working in an office would be interesting. But I can type very fast (timed myself online before, too) and I'm sure I could learn Excel fast too if I needed it. If it pays near this job now, I want to consider it. Even if it doesn't offer insurance by then I would be married so I could just go on FI's.
What do you think? Sound like a good idea?
