Hah, that’s like, my wedding! 😉 ..well. Sorta. I don’t think balloons ever entered the picture.
I said no to…
Plastic cutlery and styrofoam plates.
The garter toss (actually, that was FI).
ETA – Oh yes! Forgot – no flower girl/ring bearer.

@AshleyB: Hm, why not in bottles, out of curiosity? Most people around here think bottled is best, I might not survive my wedding day if I decided that, haha.
I’m not having STDs, fancy invitations, floral decorations, MOH/Best Man, bouquet or garter toss, videographer, father walking me up the aisle, open bar, the parent dances, and probably a lot more.

@MrsStrawberry24: LOL, my FI wants a cheese fondue too! But I don’t think he realizes that anyone has actually done that so I’m pretty sure I can talk him out of it. Besides, we’re broke, haha.

I also said no to chair covers I was lucky my venue has chavari chairs. I said no to tacky damask runners on the table the lady was pushing… and I mean they were tacky I dont even know what kinda fabric it was but it looked gross. Ialso said no to cheap tacky favors, we are going the sweets route and doing chocolate covered pretezls. I also said no to a photo booth and a traditional officiant and our good friend is doing the service… hmmm… what else I think I could go on for hours… there were more nos to things then yes I knew more of what I didnt want then what I did….
@galloway111 I didn’t like the bottles cause I hate them in pictures when you see people holding a beer bottle and would hate seeing them all over my pretty tables…

We’re saying NO to chair covers, father/daughter dance, balloons, or an open bar.
Reading other people’s “No’s” made me think of a few I left out.. LoL.
No father/daughter, mother/son dances
No being escorted down the aisle & “given away”
No cheesy little useless favors that ppl end up throwing away, anyway (lol)
No identical BM dresses
No matchy-matchy BM dress + GM vest combos
Post # 12
Saying no to bouquet toss, garter toss, receiving line, plated dinners, even sides (he has one more GM than I have BM), kids, chair covers, trying to shove all the pictures in during cocktail hour, the chicken dance, unassigned seating… hmm, what else.
i am also not going matchy matchy with the BM and GM attire. WE dont even have even number of BM and GM, we have 7 BM and 9 GM
Post # 14
@KristenGotMarried: Yes… how could I forget? Definitely NO to the chicken dance! LoL!
I’m saying no to any type of bar and no to mismatched BM dresses.

We decided against:
-Natural flowers (I’m DIYing paper flowers)
-Religious ceremony (It’s almost a must in our culture so it was a big one)
-FI said no to chivari chairs
I didn’t want a garter toss but FI does so we’re doing it.
