GORGEOUS DRESS! I'm so glad you had a great experience there. I think it gets a bad rap with the show and all the publicity so it's nice to hear a story like this!
THANK GOODNESS you posted this! My aunt decided she wanted to buy my dress for me and as an avid Say Yes To The Dress viewer she has been mentioning a trip to Kleinfelds.. i've soo nervous though. I had WLS surgery and have lost approx 120lbs so far, but i have so much more to lose.. and i'm a little afraid of going and trying on dresses..esp. there! I mean, i'm starting to look pretty good and it's not just that I have a bad body image, but my skin is kind of sagging all over the place. I'm so scared to go into a dressing room and have others in there with me (strangers, no less!) helping me into a wedding dress. It freaks me out a bit. But i'm so glad that a curvy bride has been there and can speak from experience.. thank you for posting this.. it makes me feel better!

I had a great experience at Kleinfeld too - also a curvy gal here - but I'm SOOOOO jealous of your experience with Randy!! I saw him while I was there but he didn't help out with my appointment at all. I adore him. Well done and congrats on finding the dress!
Congrats! I'm so glad you had a great experience. :) I've wondered about Kleinfeld's and if they have a good selection of sizes, because of course it does seem like they mostly just feature very small women on the show. It's great to hear that they have so many options and are friendly to boot!

Awesome! Trying on dresses was not all fun for me I wear a size 12/14 street size and trying on dresses was a hot & sweaty mess. It was me forcing myself into a bridal size 10 and once I had the dress on it was all bunchd at the midsection because I couldn't get it over my booty & hips.
And the only dresses they had that fit me were the typical "plus size bridal dresses" if you know what i mean. The dress I chose had an open back, so although it was a 10, I could actually put it on & thank goodness because I probably would of passed it up if I wouldn't of been able to put it on.
Great choice! It's always nice to hear when a place like Kleinfeld's lives up to the hype.
@aimeegirl: Don't worry! It is an awesome experience! They have a lot of size 20 sample sizes, and that's what I tried, and they fit well. Yeah the lady was in the room with me, but you know what, just flaunt it girl. Doesn't matter what anyone thinks except you. Don't let it bug you! Congrats on the weight loss! I'm still trying and have apersonal trainer that FH and I are working out with. Go and have an awesome time!!!
@kittyachi: Yeah! Randy was AWESOME!!! He was seriously the best.. I got so lucky!
OH GUYS AND I DIDNT EVEN MENTION! Lazaro was there!! and he was there while I was trying on his dresses and he was advising me.. and when I got the Rivini, he came into my room and said how amazing I looked! He was SO HUMBLE... he is so talented and was so nice when I didn't get his dress!!! He was awesome...
@AnnieAAA: GIRL I FEEL YOU. i had HORROR stories when I was shopping.. including very rude people who made me feel like crap. But the people at kleinfeld, including lazaro, randy, mara and all of the salespeople, made me feel like a beauty queen. She didn't even let me try on dresses that wouldn't fit and wouldn't look good. She really nailed it. It is worth a trip.
@crebre80: The pnina was nice, but it was on the plainer side, and more expensive. It DID give me a ROCKING shape. It was amazing.. but I really wanted lace.. and unfortunately I don't have pics of that one :S

Your dress is stunning! I love when there's a little lace on the neckline. I'm glad you had a good experience there too. I went there last month looking for Alvina dresses... They had tons but not the exact style I was looking for - I was kinda bummed about that but my overall experience was really good too.
I had Rosario, she was great but I'm totally jealous you got to meet Randy! He & Keisha are my favorites!! :)

I watch this show all the time. Its so weird to hear of an actual person going there. Randy and the rest almost seem like celebs. I would totally be like "OMG ITS RANDY...PICK OUT MY DRESSSSSS"

OMG THERE IS KEISHA!! OMG THAT's SARAH!!! and when i saw randy, i was FREAKING OUT but trying to stay cool.. lol.. and when my consultant said she wanted to get randy to see me, i was trying to play it cool but in my head i was like O. M. G. it was amazing. Especially meeting Lazaro and trying on his dresses. it was all around an amazing experience! Thanks for the love!

Hi Ladies!
This is my first post! I have been reading some of your Dress posts for a while during my dress search, and I decided after this past amazing weekend that I would post about my experience!
My sis and mom and bff planned a surprise trip to NYC so I could go to Kleinfeld this past weekend! it was AMAZING. As a curvy girl (size 14-16 street), I have had a hard time finding samples to try on! And i REFUSE to buy a dress by sticking my arms in the holes and holding it up to myself. I knew that Kleinfeld would be my solution to that problem.
Anyhow, we got there and it was magical. My consultant, Jacqueline, was a riot. She was flat out kooky and hilarious. She pulled me several gowns, and we pulled some as well, including a few Lazaros, a Pnina and others. I had a specific vision of a modified A-line lace dress that I tried at Vera Wang that I loved, and I was looking to top that. The lazaros were amazing, but I'm too curvy and didn't want to show too much booty.. and the pnina was nice but a bit plain.. So I started to panic a little because no one was getting my vision, until RANDY came into the picture! He was SO helpful!! Finally, Jacqueline took my friend into the back to help her pull dresses, and they pulled my dress.. Rivini 13. On the hanger, it looked OK.. but ON, it was a dream. It isn't a typical princess dress, more fitted to the hip and then a line. Randy was beating himself up that he didn't pick it himself! They treated us like gold. Randy was leaving, so he walked us to his fave restaurant and hooked us up with 2 rounds of free shots.. he was AWESOME!! It was an amazing experience! I LOVE my dress and veil and it twas a great experience! Curvy brides, don't despair! I personally thanked Mara and Randy for having beautiful dresses for beautiful curvy girls. It meant a lot.
I hope this post helps some of you girls have some hope to know that even if you are more curvy and a bigger girl, you are BEAUTIFUL.
Apparently some woman emailed Say yes to the dress and said
"How dare you say that a size 22 woman is beautiful? How can you find that beautiful?!"
Randy said he personally answered the email telling her what's what.
