- Wedding: December 2017
Today was my appointment for my David’s Bridal dress looking experience for myself and for my bridesmaids. My mom, younger sister (also a bridesmaid), maid of honor and one of my bridesmaids came with me and it was just awesome. The consultant I worked with looked like the older lady with short blond hair on the Say yes to the Dress show but she had shoulder length hair instead.
I went in with the thought that I probably wouldn’t be able to decide….I had already had an idea set basically for what I wanted from looking online. I don’t have any pics from my camera because FI is next to me on the couch but my mom took some pictures of me on my phone (after a few of the clips got taken off to hold up two of the bridesmaid dresses lol) so it’s not as perfect as it is in the camera pictures. BUT I will put one on the end of this. Anyways, so I told her what I liked, picke a couple dresses from the book and she went to get three of them. The first one I tried on, I felt like it was the one but I wanted to try a couple more on just in case – it fit like a glove and is exactly what I was going for….AND I felt skinny. No, it wasn’t the ball gown I dreamed of all my life, but it was absolutely gorgeous. I tried on two more similar but kept going back to this one. THEN I tried on an absolutely gorgeous ball gown and loved everything about it, even the magical feeling it gave me, except for the price ($200 above my personal budgeted limit) and the fact that it excentuated my wide hips which I didn’t want. So I asked if I could try on the first one, one more time. I knew as soon as I put it on that it was the one I would be getting.
My girls tried on a couple bridesmaids dresses as well. SOOOO glad we did! One of the girls is a little taller than I am and the one we had semi-decided on through the online part of our looking would have been about 5 inches short with shoes, and it was one where you couldn’t get extended length. SO we went with one similar and that has straps so they didn’t feel like they would be pulling it up all day too.
This is a cell pic, so it certainly does no justice. It has to be taken in a little on the waist and a little on the hips but it is so perfect! I feel absolutely beautiful in it and i love the way the straps cup my shoulders. The veil kind of covers that part but when I get the ones from my camera, I will upload one without a veil. I’m going to make my own veil though 🙂
Girls, they rang the bell too when I picked my dress. She walked up with the bell, said that it was tradition and asked me to close my eyes to make a wish for my wedding day. I started tearing up when she said to make a wish….and then they just welled up even more (but didn’t fall) when I opened them and saw my mom crying. So perfect.
