So about a week ago I posted in classifieds looking for an Enzoani Dakota for a reception dress just to see what would come up. Well, low and behold I get two NEW bee members with no posts and no information sending me PM’s about their size 2 Dakotas. One person emails me photos all from Style Me Pretty, when I ask for actual photos she sends me a pic of the dress preserved in a box. Hmmm….. I google the SMP post and realize the name of the girl in the email does not match the name of the SMP bride. SCAM ALERT. So I write back telling this person if she really does have an enzoani she needs to send pics of her actual dress (knowing that this won’t happen). Third hint, the emailers english was awful, but the blog post written on SMP was perfect of course. Fourth, I just got another pm from a NEW bee with broken english claiming to have a size 2 Dakota. HMMMM. I am starting to think that dress makers are looking through classifieds and trying to make dresses and pass them off as the real deal by using authentic photos. Did I mention that when I told scammer #1 the dress was a couple inches too long for me (I was worried about hemming lace) that she told me her mother was a seamstress who could alter for free…..
Maybe I am completely wrong, and being paranoid. But, come on now, it just doesn’t seem right!!!
