Hi all!!!!! My wedding is in just a few days (yay) and i am having a kids table with lots of little activities!! The centerpeice for the kids table will be gold fish in a tank and I’m trying to come up with a fun game for the kids to play so they can win the fish and take them home! Do any bees have any fun ideas!!?? I was thinking of doing some sort of scavenger hunt like: find someone with their hair in an updo and ask them their name. grab a pink lollipop and show it to the bride Etc.
what do you all think?

Are these real goldfish? If they are.. I would highly suggest not doing that. While it’s fun for kids to play games and win a fish, lots of times these creatures end up dying because the child [or parent] doesn’t really want them.
For an alternative, you could use fish stuffed animals.. all kids love stuffed animals!
The scavenger idea is really cute, but I would keep the bride & groom out of it – not sure how many kids you’ll have at the wedding but you could end up having a bunch of kids surrounding you all night when you’re trying to dance/eat/socialize.
You could do some little tabletop boardgames and the winners can pick a prize from the fish tank?

Crayons and paper. Books. Mazes and word searches. Mustaches. How old are the kids and how many will there be?

I’m with jenilynevette: on the live fish… seems a little rough. The wedding will be how long? The fish will be in bags without properly circulating water on the way home too. Plus, who is going to scoop and bag them? It might be hard to do neatly while wearing dress clothes (if your wedding calls for that). Then, what about tanks, food, upkeep? Maybe bags of “goldfish” crackers instead?
For the “I Spy”/scavenger hunt game- I’d try to limit how much they have to do with the bride & groom unless you only have a few kids around. I’d ask them to “find a person who _________” and have that person sign their name. This keeps them circulating and the adults can often help them in keeping the conversation levels low.
A person who: has more than 2 cats/dogs/pets, owns a yellow car, wears glasses, has a secret talent, has the same first name as you, you didn’t know before today, is wearing shoes you like, can do the hokey pokey, can show you how to fold something neat out of paper (provide paper), likes to run, has a long last name, doesn’t like chocolate, you dance with on the dance floor. You could even “plant” special ideas- if you have an aunt who does origami, put a hint. If you have a cousin that can yodel, make her a hint. Of course, you’d only want to do this to kid-friendly folks.

Please, please, please do not use live goldfish. It’s just plain cruel. Fish are living creatures and pets are commitments not decorations. Don’t do it.
A scavenger hunt is cute as is an I Spy game. Word searches, coloring pages, mazes. You could do simple origami.
