@jenwil1981: I think guests are able to entertain themselves and don't need games to do so.
I think you would need to also have a way to "prove" that people got all the answers correct. Like do they take photos or get some kind of token?
Overall, I voted no.
I'm a little torn on this. While I does sound like a fun idea, and I agree with PP about maybe having them take pictures of certain fun little details, I'm not crazy about the winner gets cash or a gift card thing. To me, that sounds like something more appropriate for a bridal shower game or something like that.
Well considering that our reception won't have dancing or a meal, we do need something for guests to do. The wedding is totally non-traditional so having a game like this is very logical to me
We are doing I Spy, but just for the kids. So they'll be entertained during cocktail hour and throughout the reception. We are giving them disposable cameras to use that they'll turn in at the end of the night.
I'm doing an I Spy. I am planning on having one or two cards at each table and whoever wants to participate can. I don't care so much about the guests following the lists. I want to try to get as many guests photos as I can, and I feel as they would be more willing to share them if they participated in the I Spy. Also I have a bunch of fun cameras (different film formats, ect) and would love to get some pics on those, but will be far to busy to be doing it myself. And I don't car what some people might sya, all those little thoughtful touchs do matter, even if only a handful participate.
We did an I-spy w/disposable cameras just for the kids activity table. Well, I was excited to develop the cameras to see what pics the kiddos took and when I did the pics were awful! Out of the 3 cameras we only had 4 semi-decent pics. Well, at least it gave the kids something to do :) As for your situation, I don't think adults really need something to keep them entertained. The guest book, small talk, and cocktail hour should be fine...

If there is no dancing, guests entertain themselves by mingling. Kids in attendance might enjoy the game but the adults likely will not.
Despite some of the PPs, I think this would be fun! My FI and our group of friends love games and play them all the time - we would make it into a competition among ourselves even if no one else participated. I'd vote yes.
my friend had a similar game, but she did it with camera's. she has disposable cameras for each table ( a few each) and she has a list of photo's that people needed to get. for example, bride dancing with her dad, someone dancing and dipping the bride,, someone toasting, bride's dad and mom in the same shot (they are divorced), etc. each shot had a point value and there was a prize for the table that won. she got a lot of fun photo's out of it.

My fiance and I are trying to think of things to do to entertain our wedding guests during the time between the ceremony and reception (when we'll be taking group photos) and during the reception itself, and we thought about creating a scavenger hunt of some sort.
The idea is to create a list of things that the guests are supposed to look for in the church during the ceremony and reception. (We're doing all sorts of little things to personalize the wedding, and we mainly want to draw attention to all the work we did.) We want to put the list on the back of the program and the person who finds the most items by a certain point in time during the reception will win cash or a gift card.
The list of items will range from the charms included on the bridemaids' bouquets and on the groomsmen's boutennaires to tiny details on our wedding cake and cardbox at the reception. I guess it's kind of like a "I Spy" type game in reverse
Has anyone ever done something like that? Does that sound like a fun thing to do?
