Hi there, Bees!
I just can’t believe it (I think I’m still in shock). It’s been 5 days now since my SO proposed! On V-Day, he told me that we were taking a trip over the weekend to San Francisco (which I was super excited about, since I had never been and had heard such amazing things about it!).
We left late on Friday night after work, checked into a gorgeous hotel in Fisherman’s Wharf, and Saturday morning slept in, had some *ahem* couples time, and then got ready and headed the few blocks to the pier. We got lunch, watched a street acrobat show, hung out watching the sea lions, and snacked on saltwater taffy (my favorite!) The day was already a BLAST.
Then he decided he really wanted to see the Palace of Fine Arts (I had no idea what it was… thought it was a museum of some kind), so we took a cab over there. It was so beautiful! We spent an hour or so just walking around, and then he pulled me into a corner, hugged and kissed me, and then said my full name… kiss… I love you… kiss… I want to spend the rest of my life with you… and then before I knew it, he was on one knee and holding up a ring! I was completely SHOCKED… had not expected this to happen on this trip (not only had we JUST looked at rings and I figured there was no way he could order it in time, especially as I have our one mail key, but also because I thought he just wasn’t going to be ready for another few months!) So I was shaky and overwhelmed, felt like I was dreaming and that couldn’t possibly have just happened. Eventually I calmed down a bit and said yes, and we walked around the lake again and just chilled out and talked before calling our parents.
He told me that he had made (what he hoped would be celebratory!) dinner reservations for that night, so we headed back to the hotel and got ready. As we were approaching the restaurant he said to me, ‘I have one more surprise for you’. I noticed that he was looking really closely into the windows of the restaurant, so I asked if there was someone there we knew? When we were led to our table, both sets of our parents were sitting there, waiting to celebrate with us! This was super exciting, because I live 1500 miles from my parents!! I was so surprised, I thought for sure it had to be friends that live much, much closer! It was amazing!
Pictures are coming soon!
