Haha. You will be fine. I'm glad you found the dress you love! Do you have any pictures you can show us? As long as you get the dress in August...it looks like your wedding is at the end of September so you should be fine. But I would be frantic too!
I second August15bride. You WILL BE fine! I ordered my dress IN MARCH and was still told it wouldn't come in until August ... I'm still waiting, but I'm not sweating it. I lied and said my wedding was Sept. 1, so I'm sure it will come in in time, as will yours. They don't want to lose that money I promise.
P.S. You should show us a pic of both dresses so we can fawn over them. Just shrink them down to about 150k and upload them to the board :)
Okay here are the dresses.. and I am pretty sure august15bride is the one who has the same dress that I'm getting, and she looks BEAUTIFUL in it! =)

I must say, I think you made the right choice. Then again, I'm a bit biased. Hehe.
My ceremony is on September 6th and I don't have my ceremony dress yet. I can't find what I'm looking for, I'm running out of options on where to look, and I'm beginning to panick a bit.
But I know that there's still some time so try not to stress too much, at least you know it's on its way. I'm not going to freak out until at least another few weeks :)

LOL - so I read this post and ended up clicking on the dress you ended up with first and thought to myself, "Wow, what an AMAZING dress, I love it almost as much as mine - and I've found almost NOTHING I like other than my dress." and then I clicked on the first dress- and that's my dress! Looks like we have almost the exact same taste!
While I ADORED my dress - you're absolutely right the Victoriana is a LOT of dress!! Fortunately for me that's what I was going for! Great dresses, you'll look gorgeous!!

IronMaiden that is hilarious! That dress is beautiful, and looking at other people's pictures, I guess it just depends on if you decide to wear something under it or just let it lay flat. I really did love the top, and I still wish I could have just cut the top and put it on the bottom of dress number 2! lol that is just so funny that we think similarly!
Anyways, you definitely picked a beautiful dress! Congratulations, and good luck!

Ok, sooooo... this is what happened.
As soon as I got engaged (last Aug.), I knew exactly what style dress I wanted. So I started trying them on in stores until I found one that I LOVED.. at least I loved the top of it. I figured, "the top is so pretty that I will just end up loving the bottom too". I found the dress on eBay for the perfect price with a veil, and was just so happy.
So then a few months ago I tried the dress on again for a bridesmaid, and realized I STILL HATED THE BOTTOM! It was just way too much material for me!
Split second decision- Let's go find a new dress! I sold the first one on eBay to go towards a new dress..
I went to NYC thinking I would find something at a Kleinfeld sample sale. Of course, like 1 out of 100 of their samples are white! Just my luck. So needless to say, we had no luck. When I got home, I found a dress that I LOVE! AMEN! I even got to customize the dress. They said it wouldn't be in until SEPTEMBER! I am getting married in Sept.! So, I had them rush order it so now it will be here in August. I am just freaking out because I want to see my dress!
Has anyone had any similar experiences? How in the world did you stay calm? =)
