I was browsing the Humans of New York archive (it’s a blog where a New York photographer takes pictures of interesting people all around the city) and I found a picture of this lady. I think if all the bees on the hive could heed this advice then half of the posts on the ’emotional’ board would be unnecessary.
“I’m a professional matchmaker.”
“So what’s the most important thing in a good relationship?”
“It’s important to stay present, and to always remain curious about how your partner may have changed. That way you avoid holding your partner to old standards and judgments.”
ETA: Here is a link to Humans of New York. It’s a great blog and you should all check it out. It’s amazng how the people HONY photographs can give you a snapshot of their lives in just a few sentences.

@EyeLoveKitties: I love HONY. FH and I have always secretly kind-of wanted to move to New York. Reading Humans of New York makes me very excited and terrified at the thought lol.

HONY is awesome and one of the few posters I actually enjoy on facebook.
After hurricane Sandy he did a fundraiser – people bought his prints and he donated all the proceeds to cleaning up the NYC area. Darling Husband and I have one of his pictures on our wall and I just bought his new book.
