I take my rings off when I feel too puffy or when I have a patch of eczema in that area.
Shower, sleep, exercise and cook anything that involves getting my hands dirty. I have a dish for them in the kitchen and by the bed. I used to take them off every time I put lotion on and once I dropped it on the dark floor of a bar. Never again!
My ring comes off the minute I get home and I don't put it back on until I leave for work the next day. The only time it comes off outside of our house is for volleyball and I hide it away.
When I shower, put lotion on, wash my hands at home (never in public), and if I'm doing anything I think would damage it or get it dirty.

I've actually seen quite a few super cute little animal ones at Bed Bath and Beyond.
I take my ring off when I shower, sleep, wash dishes, cook, clean it, put on lotion, do my nails, clean with chemicals. Or basically anytime it could get dirty or goopy. I try to keep my ring as clean as possible so it'll always be super sparkly! :)
I take my ring off when I work out and am planning to do any floor stuff (for some reason that just bothers me) or weights and also when I'm mixing concrete (for my civil engg. research), but other than that I never take it off other than for cleaning (which I do pretty often...especially because we have an ultrasonic bath, which is what they use at the jewelry store, in our lab... :)
I take my ring off when i put lotion on, or if im baking/cooking and my using my hands. But my fiance makes me take it off when im just washing my hands, which gets really annoying. In my opinion it should be on all the time.
I would never take it off to sleep. I only really take it of to shower/put on lotion or if I'm handling raw meat. I do get mine cleaned all the time though. Like every two weeks I take it to the jewler to have it cleaned.
Never...but if I had to cook with ground beef then yeah I would.
Shower, wash the dishes, clean with chemicals, put on lotion... that's pretty much it.
I turn mine around when working out cause I bang my ring into the treadmill and it does bother me when I do weights ( it's not turned around then) but I suck it up for the couple of reps I do (I only use 5-10 lb)
I take mine off if I'm doing anything gross...cleaning, touching raw meat, kneading dough, gardening...etc. My husband and I have a rule though...when either of our rings come off, they have to be on a "home", which is one of the many ring holders that we have scattered around the house!

Only when I put on lotion. But I don't wear my engagement ring...it's a pearl, and very old, and I don't want to damage it, so it's only my wedding band, which is a plain gold band...I'm not worried about getting dough or meat or anything stuck in it somewhere.
Only when I'm in student clinic, working with a client (I'm working through a physiotherapy degree in the summers); and later when I do manual therapy with clients.
But other than that, I wear it always. In my mitts when I'm on the ski slopes every day; in gloves when I'm working with something icky or cleaning.
Lotion, shower, wash dishes, cook, and take laundry out of the drier! I have nightmares about diamonds coming out of my halo :/
I don't ever take it off.
I would say when I'm making meatballs or kneading dough but uh, I've never actually done either of those things.
Whenever I have to reach my hand into a narrow space, haha. Cathedral settings are gorgeous but tough to maneuver!
I am a Chef and have my hands in everything all of the time but I still only take my ring off when I am cleaning it (once a day). We got a really great insurance policy on it though just because I do what I do for a living.
I take my ring off when I shower and wash the dishes. I can now wash my hands with it.
At work sometimes I know I'm going to get dirty and when that happens I put it on my necklage, but that's it.
My mom never takes off her rings, so she thought I was INSANE when I told her I do! I have lots of little diamonds (8 0.1ct) and I don't want to worry about them getting dirty or falling out.
Anyways, I have two ikea tea light holders that I found at the thrift shop for $0.50 each. I keep one in my kitchen on the windowsill and one in my bathroom. Whenever I take my ring off, it goes into a dish-- no exception.
That being said, this is when I take it off:
-when I shower (I have long, LONG hair and I found it gets caught up or twisted if I don't remove it)
-when I do dishes
-when I garden or do arts and craft projects that are supremely messy
-using cleaning chemicals
-putting on hand lotion

I take it off when I shower, do hardcore cleaning and when I cook.
Side story: FI took me to a cabin when he proposed. There was a hot tub that we spent a lot of time in. The night he proposed we had planned to start dinner, get in the hot tub while it was cooking, eat dinner and then get back in the hot tub. He proposed between 1st hot tub time and dinner. I took it off before we got in the hot tub and the look on his face was pitiful. I felt so bad but I just didn't feel comfortable wearing it in the hot tub. Once I explained he understood..haha!
Sleep, shower, cook, put lotion on, or clean with chemicals. I'll wear my wedding band at the gym but not my engagement ring.
I took mine off the do the dishes and give the puppy a bath... and now it's gone forever. That was 5 months ago. DONT EVER TAKE YOUR RING OFF, EVER!!!!! Better a dirty ring than no ring at all :(
