I posted a few months ago about the frustration I was experiencing with my boyfriends continual stalling. When I say continual, I mean, nearly 2 years since HE brought up the idea of us getting engaged.
My boyfriend claimed that the biggest hurdle to a proposal was him not being able to afford the ring that he wanted for me. Well, that hurdle no longer exists as he has the money.
I’m excited because he has said that he is in the process of buying the ring (this was last month) he has asked me to book a holiday interstate in two weeks time (he is in the army and has been out on a field exercise).
My friends are tired of hearing about this type of specualtion so I’ve come hear to share/get excite. It will also be helpful when /if it doesn’t happen as I will have somewhere to seek some commiseration.
Wish me luck ladies!

Oooh fingers crossed for you. A nice romantic getaway is sure to prompt something.

Thanks! He NEVER suggests plans for getaways so I’m hoping that his sudden spontaniety will lead to where I want it to.
I just need to keep reminding myself to try and enjoy the trip and not focus on every moment as being THE TIME. Eg. I just came out of the toilet on the plane, maybe this is the perfect moment for him… WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?! *pout*, haha.

It seems like he is going to propose to me! Let’s hope for the best!
P.S.: And if it doesn’t happen on that holiday, he may be planning something even more romantic!

@mikarla: Hope that this is your month! Just try not to get too excited in case it doesn’t happen quite yet. And make sure you enjoy every moment of that vacation regardless of whether he proposes or not (because the time before you guys are engaged or married or have kids is very fleeting and special when you think about it and can never be gotten back)!
P.S. Tell your SO I say thank you for his service (my dad was in the Marines during Vietnam, so I know how nice it can be to hear that once in a while)!

Duly noted! I’ve been trying really hard to enjoy our pre-engaged relationship and it has helped stem the worry of waiting. So I will make sure I enjoy the vacation for what it’s worth.
I’ll also pass on your thanks to my SO, I sometimes forget how tough his job is when I’m wallowing in self pity about him being gone so much. He is back in four days after being gone for a month and I am STOKED that he will be back home soon.

OHHHH ME TOO! Not for sure, might be early September.
Only issue for us too is ring cost, he’s… erm… between jobs..? He got fired from a job he was on the verge of quitting (once he found something else, which he didn’t), so he does get unemployment and supplementary income from a finders fee, odd jobs, national guard, etc so we’re making even more than when he had a job (lol), but luxuries are a no-no until he finds something steady. Hopefully soon.
I might sneak him some info on moissanites…
