I decided on the casablanca 1827 dress 6 months ago and just went in for a fitting. It fit perfectly everywhere except it ended up being an inch too short with my heels on. They say they can fix it by adding more material at the bottom but now I am rethinking the whole dress and am starting to hate it. It is a very pretty dress but I just dont think it is right for me. I have plenty of time to get a new one because my wedding is not until June of next year, but Im pretty sure they won’t let me send it back and I will have to pay for it anyways. Does anyone know what can be done If I am unhappy with a dress do I have to buy it anyways? And if so where is the best place to sell my dress? [attachment=265175,30540]

Aww, Im sorry that you feel that way. You should definatly love the dress. I purchased my dress from oncewed.com and it was perfect. I was fortunate enough to live close to the person selling the dress and she let me come over and try it on and I didnt have to pay to ship it. There are other websites too like preownedweddingdresses.com and woreitonce.com. Im sure you can ask more since you didnt even wear it. Good luck and I hope you find your perfect dress.

Most bridal salons don’t have very flexible return policies. I would think you’re most likely going to be stuck with it, but I would suggest talking with the salon about alternative options.

Check your receipt, but it usually says you ordered it you must keep it. I suggest you allow them to make the changes to the bottom of the skirt before you walk away from it. There is a reason you bought it to begin with, there was something about hte dress that made you love it. Remember to keep all the tags on the dress in case you do decide to sell it.
Can we see a picture of you in the dress?
Also, if you were to buy another dress do you have a certain dress or style in mind?
Either way good luck with the decision. It’s tough, but you are right you have time to sell this one and get a new dress if you decide that’s what you want.

Omg I completely understand I am literally as we speak dealing with this same problem My tail seems to have vanished not that i go the dress back i guess it has something to do with me being s shorty and so the tail got shorter. My dress is 1345 from demetrios Its very pretty but when i picked it i was doing destination and so it was more appropriate for Cabo san lucas now it lacks drama for NY. Good luck to you im going there today to see if I can either exchange it or add some length to my tail. Its tough cause they’re all so pretty and when they make new ones one is better than the next.

I think you look gorgeous (it’s so flattering on you and it’s just a beautiful dress overall!) but if you really don’t like it and wouldn’t be happy wearing it then you will probably have to be prepared to take a financial loss to see it (although maybe not!) and then re-start the search. Of course a second dress might cost less than this one so it may all just work out financially!
Maybe sleep on it in the meantime? Either way – Good luck!

What exactly do you not like about it?

I think Chela429’s right, usually it will say something on your receipt saying that the dress was not returnable. I know I had to initial something like that when I ordered and then when I paid the balance and picked it up.
I know a lot of people get "buyer’s remorse" when they try on their dresses for the first time. I’d say to think abou tit a lot and try to wait until the alterations are done to make your decision. When I tried on my dress for the first time, it was 2 sizes too big and I thought I hated it. Once the alterations started to take shape, I recognized the dress I chose and fell back in love with it.
ETA: FWIW, I think you look beautiful in the dress! I love it!

I am sorry you feel that way, but if its anoy consolation I think you look beautiful in the dress!
I hope you can figure it out

I think you should sleep on it before deciding on a new dress. That dress is gorgeous and it’s very flattering!
If you still decide you hate it, you can try sites like preownedweddingdresses.com, but odds are you won’t get back exactly what you spent on it.

I think the dress is gorgeous!! Sleep on it, and let them make the alterations to the bottom! Then try it on again. Also, wear your hair the way you plan to on your wedding day and put some make-up on, wedding day earings, etc. Ultimately you need to love it, but you risk losing money by selling this one and buying another. Especially when the dress is stunning on you.
