Okay so looking to save money on my dress I decided to go the "replica" way!

I used this site that had some great reveiws but now im scared out of my mind that i might be getting scammed or what if i just hate the way they replicate my dress and get lost out of $380.00  Cry

My fiance doesnt know yet and i have never kept anything from him. He is 100% against internet buying but on my defense i spoke with the company receptionist which sounded sencere and gave me an invoice of my purchase.

Help me calm my nerves or at least quite honestly tell me if i made a mistake. Im against the labor laws in China so i bought from an American company.

This is the site i used : mrsmoranbridalboutique.weebly.com

let me know what you think bees and i hope you will all take it easy on me but tell me your honest opinions. By the way the dress i am in love with and getting a replica of is this one http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=monalisa&line=m&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=12&style=V7018T

Well I think you shouldn't freak out just yet.  When did they tell you the dress would be ready?

have they sent pics as well?  if you're in regular contact, it should ease your mind a little at least! =) i can empathize with your feelings, of course, but i think there are just certain risks you take when you order with such businesses.

I just did a little bit of google research for you, and it look like they're legit! I found several different websites with people talking about them (and I checked to make sure they were real people, and they definitely were). I think you're good!

Just wait two weeks and see what happens...but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. There are some very talented seamstresses out there who want to do more than alter a product which is already made. I think its awesome you are giving your business to an American company, instead of perpetuating Chinese sweat shop labor (I felt pretty disappointed when my Maggie Sottero turned out to be made in China).

The fact that you are getting regular updates shows that they are professional, which is always a good sign. You're already half-way in, at this point I would just try and sit tight and wait for the finished product. If it turns out bad you can cross that bridge when you come to it! I hope you don't make yourself sick with worry, I do the same thing!

I think you should wait until it gets here.  You may be worried for nothing.  It seems like they are pretty good, especially if they are updating you weekly and are in contact with you.    I know $380 is a lot of money, but in the grand scheme of things wedding related, it's a smaller expense, especially compared to the designer dress you want.  Don't freak out until it gets here.

I bought my dress from a store and I STILL worried. any time i called and didnt get an answer I'd be inwardly panicing that the store closed and went bankrupt or something and that I wouldnt get my dress, so its normal. try not to stress yet :)

If it is of any consolation, Priscilla of Boston forgot to order my wedding dress.  I called them two months later because I forgot when it would be in, and they checked and realized their mistake!  I eventually got the dress, but just wanted to let you know that there are some risks everywhere.

My advice?  Tell your fiance.  You'll feel better about the dress, you'll feel better about hiding something from him, and you'll feel better about starting your marriage off on the right foot.

I think it will be okay! The company sounds completely legitimate and very soon you'll have your bargain of a beautiful dress in hand.

We all get dress jitters of some sort. My bridal salon didn't give me a receipt for my deposit and I had to call and ask them for one two weeks later. They never answer the phone. I always get their machine, but they were the only ones in the state that had a sample of the dress I wanted and they did get good reviews.

Please let us know when you get your pics. Until then, remember to breathe and don't worry. Tell your FI. You'll feel better!

I hope it will all work out just fine.  When I ordered my dress from a store I was still nervous.  You never know what can happen.  The place could go out of business etc. so these are all things that can happen even if you were to go to a place.  Good luck & I tried on this dress and loved it.  I think it was going for about $1200 or so.

Ditto the advice to tell your fiance! Nothing will make you feel better than sharing your anxiety with him. That's what he's there for, supporting you even in maybe-mistakes.

That sounds pretty awesome that they're giving you status updates almost weekly!  I think it's normal to freak out about big purchases, especially one like your wedding gown.  I waited almost 7 months for mine (with no updates) and was freaking out about it almost the whole time!
