I just up and bought a random wedding dress today :*( I was tired of going back and forth on my decision for a dress so I just decided that today was the day to buy one. Now I have it hanging on the door in front of me and I’m completely freaked out. I have no idea why I did that. It looked great in the store, but I wasn’t allowed to take pictures of it. I took it to a friends house who took pictures of me in it and it looked completely different than I thought it did.
Details for this wedding are making me crazy! That, or they are just bringing out the crazy that has always been there. Either way, I am super depressed that I let myself do that today. Anyone willing to share the dumb things they have done while under the pressure of planning a wedding?
PS…the dress I bought was Casablanca 1871

I randomly bought my dress too. Me and a friend were having a girls day…getting our hair done, mani, pedis…. and we drove by a bridal store and figured we should go try on dresses. I ended leaving with my dress. My mom wasn’t there, my sisters weren’t there, none of my bridesmaids…. its sad now when I think back.
But I really loved the dress while I was there. And the past month or so I’ve been feeling like it was a bad choice. I think I’m feeling that way cause I haven’t seen the dress since I bought it. (its at my FMIL’s) So you’re not alone in the impulse buying. I was so in the moment, i wasn’t thinking….
…Now I’m thinking about getting a new dress. It sucks, but I want to be happy and I want my family and girls there with me. I totally ruined that moment.
Can you return the dress? do you know their return policy? If you’re having mixed feelings now, take the dress back while you can. I can’t with mine 🙁
good luck but you’re not crazy or alone!

Firstly: WOW! That dress is great! I’m not usually a big fan of mermaid style, but it looks great!
Second: I think I’m crazy too, because I’m STILL looking at wedding dresses and almost bought one on ebay because it was pretty and cheap ($200 US-due to it being a discontinued dress). EEK! I am already going to wear a beautiful wedding dress (the ONE) and a burgundy ball gown for late nite part of the reception. I don’t know why I still keep on looking at dresses-maybe I just want to wear 5 different white dresses in one day LOL
Dress shopping is stressful, because you want what YOU think is nice, what OTHERS will like and at the same time you want what looks GOOD too. Sometimes those things don’t go hand-in-hand. I hope I made sense.
Don’t worry, just breathe! Try on the dress, and maybe show it to a few friends, get their opinion on it. If it really wasn’t what u were looking for, then just sell it and get another dress. I’m sure someone will want that dress, it’s beautiful

OMG! I love this dress! I feel the same way except my dress is being made. It’s that whole “the one” pressure of feeling. I got fed and just went with a custom. Now I’m panicking that it’s going to be made and I hate it ( I literally have dreams about it.)

The dress is wonderful – that was one heck of a random purchase! 🙂
We all get crazy like that. As long as your dress makes you feel like a million bucks, that’s all that matters!

LOVE IT!! Yes the stress can make you do crazy things I agree!! I bought my dress pretty quickly (8th one i tried on) The price was right so I just did it. I was allowed to take pics of it on but the designer does not post all dresses on the website so people do imitate her dresses.. Don’t second guess yourself! Just don’t look at the pic a million times because then you may second guess! Someone told me to store the pics away and don’t look at any more dresses in magazines and stuff!

That dress is gorgeous!
So, let me ask you this–have you already had it altered? It doesn’t look like it needs anything, but if you do need it altered, what if they came to your fittings with you?
My mom didn’t get to be there with me either, because of an unfortunate schedule and the inability to buy a plane ticket 30 minutes before a flight! Grr. But I can’t wait to show her, i sent her pics in the store and I know she will love it.
If your mom thinks you’re beautiful and you think it’s the one, I think you should keep the dress. Good luck!
