Yay! I'm coming in under budget right now by about 4k, but I still have a ways to go until wedding day so that money might eventually be eaten up!

@june42011: the things that ended up surprising me for their costs were my dress alterations ($600, good thing the dress was free) and the wedding bands, especially my FI. He is a size 12, we got 14k white gold, his was brushed down the middle, his ring cost twice as much as what I had budgetted for. So if I can offer some advice, for the rings budget a little more than you think they might cost. Unless you've already priced out your wedding bands.
Congrats! FI just did our final tally this morning, and all things together, the entire wedding weekend & honeymoon, we came in almost 25% under!! Doesn't it feel great??
Congratulations on coming in under budget! That's the best because there are often unexpected expenses and incidentals that come up the day of--you've got a great cushion.
And if you don't use it all-all the better!
We're under budget too, and it is such a relief, isn't it!? It was a surprise to be so under budget ($5k) but we had more guests RSVP no than we planned on. Smaller party means a smaller catering bill and fewer flower arrangements!
@sunnydebs: we just recently sent out our invitations, so I expect at least a dozen or so nos. But I may invite others in their place. So that'll be an additional saving as well :) We had some incidentals already (dress alterations being way more than expected and we had to get a DJ after a friend told us they wouldn't be able to do it as originally planned). But I'm feeling good.

All we have left to pay for are our favours ($240), FIs tux rental ($130), hair/makeup ($200) and some of the decorations. We have about $1500 left in our budget. Yippee! I am hoping to do everything that is left for about $1000 (and I think that is generous, the decorations that are left are candles for the centrepieces and table numbers).
