I’m having the HARDEST time finding a venue!
I flew home to socal last thursday to do a little venue searching only to find… that its impossible!
It was literally the week from hell! So i’ve decided to just let my parents and future in-laws find a place…
Did you have a hard time finding a venue? Was it awful and made you want to leap from the passengers side of the car out to on coming traffic? (a little much i know).
Also.. if there is anyone who has a good loctaion for a venue for 200 people in southern california that costs around 30k.. please let me know.. i’m desperate.

I have not a clue about Socal, but I feel your pain. We needed to find a venue that allowed us to bring in our own caterer (top of the list priority for us) and had a bit of a rustic feel. It took me FOREVER to find a place. Oh my gosh it was the worst part of the planning process. When we did find it, I was ecstatic and it worked out really well, but ugh, I would not go through that again! I hope your parents or FIL are able to find something for you.

I am in the same HELL!! It sucks being a long distance bride. At least I could have gone to places after work here but no, it has to be when I schedule a flight. I’m getting sick of it all. I already did one whirlwind tour and another one coming up next month. Le sigh….

Ugh every venue we visit just makes me feel like I’m getting a wedding in a box.. like I can’t make anything my own.. and it just frustrates me! and anything I do like I can’t really afford.. it all makes me want to scream..

Venue shopping was the WORST. I found it horrible because we really wanted a unique venue and we had a pretty low budget… it took FOREVER to find a place we liked that we could afford.

i breathed the hugest sigh of relief when we signed a contract with our venue. planning from afar makes it even harder since you have to cram a lot of venue shopping into a short amount of time. just know that it gets easier from here!

I HATED IT WITH A PASSION!!!!!! Trying to find something in a reasonable location, with a nice place for a ceremony, nice place for reception, good food options, nearby hotels, and within our small budget was HELL. Hell.

I’m still in the middle of picking a venue, but at this point I’m not enjoying it that much. Making a decision has been more difficult that I anticipated…

@His Lil SantosGirl: Where in SoCal are you thinking and what time of year?
LA? San Diego? Santa Barbara? Lots of places to choose….
I’ve always thought this place in San Diego was nice:Hotel de Coronado

I hate shopping around for things, but venue shopping for me was a piece of cake. I had very specific expectations about size, price, and location. We visited one place that fit the bill, and booked it right away!
