... with my new lip balm!

I have suffered in the past from extremely chapped lips and living in my first true winter climate (change from FL to VA), my lips looked pretty pathetic and crying out for help. Help came my way just a few days ago: Nivea A Kiss of Relief SOS Lip Care! I love it and it's helped smooth my lips out already. I still love my C.O. Biglow Mintha shine, but I think I need to see other lip balms every so often.

What is your go to lip pampering favorite?

Old school blistex! The creamy one in the white tube with the red stripe. It actually heals chapped lips, instead of just covering them and protecting them from future chapping. Put it on at night and you'll wake up to smooth lips!

I'm obsessive about my lip balm too! I needed something that tasted good, wasn't super glossy, and was healing. It comes in a variety of flavors, but my favorite is the original which has a slightly coconuty flavor!

I love the new Nivea lip balms.  They are so smooth!  The are the same as Labello, which are only available in Europe or online.  I bought a ton of Labellos before I came back from Italy in college but I am finally about to run out so I am so glad the Nivea ones came out here!

I might need to try that Nivea stuff. My lips get really chapped and nothing ever helps them really "heal".

Ooh...I'm addicted to lip balm...I went out and got that C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine after Miss Latte wrote about her addiction...and I love it, but it doesn't help when my lips get super chapped...I always end up going back to good old Blistex (mint flavor in the all green tube).  I can't stand chapstick (too waxy for me).  I will have to run out and try out this new Nivea stuff now :)

I am a lip-balm addict & just found the Nivea recently (at Wal-mart I think!) and it is my new favorite. I also love Dr. Bronner's Magic organic lip balm in Orange Ginger.

Ok, I'm going to sound like a total hick but I swear by bag balm. One time I had severe chapped lips and I tried every kind of chapstick but it never got better. Then I tried the Bag Balm, and I swear like an hour later my lips were completely smooth. It's actually made to use on cows udders, but it works wonders. Super cheap...like 7 bucks at walgreens for a 10 oz tin and it lasts forever! I just put it in an empty carmex pot or you can buy a little plastic container to throw in your purse. I also slather it on my feet and sleep in socks at night and it makes them super soft. This is a wonder product!

I love the CO Bigelow Mentha shine (I have like five tubes of it in two colors...) but for really severely chapped lips, good ol' vasoline works every time! I found a trick in one of Kevin Aucoin's makeup books that I use whenever my lips are really chapped:

    - put a fairly thick layer of vasoline on your lips
    - wait about 4 minutes
    - take a baby toothbrush and gently rub it in a circular motion on your lips to remove the vasoline. the vasoline, along with all the dead skin cells will be removed and your lips will be smooth and moisturized!

The "big" stick of coco butter is fantastic! It's abot 2 inches wide, so you only need a single swipe for both lips. Got it at CVS- never looked back!

I'm a huge burt's bees addict, with at least one in every purse. I especially love burt's bees with pomegranate oil... it's got just the slightest hint of natural color in it so I use it as my lip stain every day. I'll probably even wear it on my wedding day!

I can get Labello's here in Canada, so they are definitely my go-to for lip help! I was surprised to read the earlier comment about them only being available in Europe.

But for dire winter situations, there's that Blistex Medex stuff in the little blue container, that is the only thing that can help fix the chapped lips that come with the wind and snow.

I'm going to sound like a crazy person but my absolute fav is called "Chicken Poop", and no there's no actual Chicken poop in it!  My family is from Kansas and my cousin's gf got this for me one year and I'm addicted!  http://www.ilovechickenpoop.com

I like Lip Healer by Essence of Nature; I found it at Trader Joe's but it's since been discontinued by them, so I buy it online.  Bag Balm and Smith's Rosebud Balm are also in my rotation.

I have been a Burt's Bees fan for awhile now. I was also a Carmex fan for several years. I found Carmex to work best when my lips were super chapped. Just this past weekend, I decided to take Latte's advice and get the C.O. Bigelow Mentha stuff. So far, I love it!

My absolute go-to lip product isn't really a lip product.  I use Aquaphor ointment (it's made by Eucerin) and it smooths out my lips like nothing else!

@ ES123: Glad you like it too!

I love Bert's too, but it doesn't help me too much when my lips get really dry even though I love the way it feels.

Believe it or not, my FI is the lip balm obsessed one.  He swears by old fashioned blue Chapstick. He has all kinds of other skin products but he will not change his lip balm. When we are running and he doesn't have pockets, I kid you not the man puts it in his sock.  It's a little scary.

I use Rosebud salve. Soft shiny no stick and lasts forever. Plus I love tin containers.

I'm allergic to everything except for Burt's Bees.  It started about 2 years ago.  First lipsticks gave me reactions, then to lipgloss and then even the lip balm that I was using for 2 years prior.  I went to see my allergist and he tested all the products on my back and nothing happened, but as soon as I apply something on my lips.  I start to get these small pus.  What is really weird is that I can't use Burt's Bees' colored lip balms, only the plain one.  I don't like the waxy look on my lips, so I tried to make my own...I mixed a little bit of burt's bees and olive oil and microwaved it.  At first, it was wonderful cause I had shiny lips again, then my lips started to have a reaction after 2 days.  Ughh...I hate how I can't use anything.

MsAnnaLytical    March 13, 2010   Orlando, FL--finally with my FI!

My FI despises pretty much all my "gloopy" lip balms...meaning all the shiny pretty ones I own. The only one we can agree on is called Chap Ice...it's very similar to chapstick, except that it's a bit thicker and stays on longer. It soothes my lips, tastes excellent, and doesn't make my FI's lips look glittery or Vaseline-y after we smooch. :)

old fashioned blistex  (white tube) is the best---i slather it on at night all winter long.

burts bee's medicated is wonderful too (and with the clove oil in it reminds me of christmas!)

and the vaseline/toothbrush scrub trick works wonders!  i've been doing that for years its awesome!

I absolutely LOVE softlips!!  I literally have one in almost every purse I own (I tend to grab the important stuff and forget my chapstick when I switch purses).  My FI liked it on me so much he uses it too now!! :-)
