I think my cats see ghosts…

I for SURE think cats (and dogs) can sense things we cannot! My cats have ALWAYS sensed things. My mom and I can sense things too, and when we feel a presence our cats always feel them too!

I like it because sometimes I can really freak myself out, but I feel like if my cats are calm, I should be too. Lol

No, I think that’s just normal cat behaviour. Every person I know who has a cat reports the sane thing. Unless all of their houses are haunted…. I don’t think so.

@HappySky7:  I agree with this.  My cat does the exact same thing.  It’s entirely likely that they are hearing house noises that are so subtle we don’t pick them up or something like that.

2 of my 3 dogs definitely see something. One of them is blind now, so doesnt react to much anymore, but he did when he was younger. Creepiest time was when I thought I saw something and at the same time he looked up at the exact same spot and growled. The other one is constantly watching something and growling. Its almost non stop.

“sense” things is technically true. That’s why some dogs are trained to detect seizures or low blood sugar or heart issues. Animals can detect natural disasters and other such things. It can be atmospheric pressure or static electricity or even hear the sounds we cannot of tectonic plates moving.

I do not believe in the supernatural. No orbs, no ghosts, no spirits. I too have a cat who will stare into the abyss and sometimes lose her shit (Sudden running around the house, jumping, frizzing up, bolting over to maul my husband or I or tear us to shreds), I’ve never once thought, “Gee, she must’ve seen a ghost.” because knowing her, she’d try to eat it.

Who knows lol but I get paranoid so I would lose my beans if my dogs just stared/ barked at nothing. A few weeks ago for three days straight, I walked my dogs like usual but for some reason my girl dog keep trying to get away and she’s never like that, she always walks by my side. Anyways I thought she wanted to smell grass or w/e so I followed her and she ran up the stairs with her tail down (shes an Eskimo mix so her tail is always curled up ) and hid under the couch . I never knew what happened but freaked me out , good thing she stopped doing that lol.

I don’t believe in ghosts, but my cat does the same thing. She’s just crazy. She also does this:

She’ll sit there for hours, staring at the oven.

@cirk:  Maybe she’s checking out the pretty kitty staring back at her!

For real though, I hate when my dogs will randomly look at a spot and both growl… Uh what do they see???

@MrsRichard:  yeah that might be it! Her meows are her hitting on herself.

“Well aren’t you the prettiest kitty I’ve ever seen? What’s a girl got to do to get to know you? Me-ow!”

@LeonardLady:  At my old apartment – which was TOTALLY HAUNTED – my cat would totally be chilling and then suddenly sit up with her ears pinned back like something was freaking her out. She would start up at the ceiling for hours (nothing up there and no one lived up in the apartment above me for months while I lived there). I’ve had too many experiences with ghosts/the unexplained/paranormal to throw away the notion of ghosts, so I completely think that some animals are able to pick up on better than I can. And my cat is a nervous FOOL as it is, so if something “strange” was going on, I completely believe she’d be “tuned” into it. No one can convince me otherwise. NO ONE.

 @LeonardLady:

I’m not a 100% sure. I have one cat that at a certain time of night she’ll sit on my dresser and look up at the ceiling and do it for hours and hours.

Creepiest thing ever!

Our kitty does stuff like that, then she’ll run around the house like a spaz.  We call it her zoomies.  I don’t think there’s any thing supernatural.  I just think she’s a silly cat.  Our male cat doesn’t do this, he’s much lazier.
