So I am relatively new to the boards..hello! My boyfriend and I are not yet engaged, but talk on a daily basis about our wedding. We had said we did not want to get engaged until after we finished school, and we will both be graduating in January. Being as though graduation is so close, he has given me the green light to start wedding “browsing”, aka picking out venues I like, themes, colors, etc. And I love love love weddings so I couldn’t be more excited about doing so.
We talked about the fact that we wanted a wedding with an ‘old feel’, preferrably 1940’s southern classy 🙂 We had looked at several locations, and done a few tours, and weren’t really wowed by anything….until we found The Duncan House. We went on a mini road trip last weekend, and stumbled upon this beautiful three story historic mansion in Tavares, Florida, about an hour from where we live. It faces Lake Dora and is perfect for an outdoor fall wedding.
Now for the picture goodness you have all been waiting for!
This is actually the BACK of the house. This big column entrance faces Lake Dora, and would be GORGEOUS at sunset!
This is the living room fireplace, where I envision LOTS of candles, our guest book, etc…
This is the view from the back entrance. Those gorgeous colums just make me swoon! Talk about southern elegance 🙂
And here is that sunset I was talking about!
I just love it! And surpisingly it is affordable. Whatcha think hive??
