Oh my god this is crazy sauce! We aren’t officially engaged yet. It’s coming some time between now and New Years Eve. *bounce bounce bounce*. But we picked our wedding date back in January so that we could start saving right away.
Anyway, our Canadian city kind of sucks for wedding venues *eyeroll* and there was a HUGE price jump between 2013 and 2014 so I’ve been FREAKING OUT over the new reception costs.
Anywaaaaay, i went back to the website of one of my favorite choices today and their meal prices only went up a DOLLAR! (all the other decent places were up about $20/person). I had almost automatically written this place off without checking back because it’s a GORGEOUS golf club house and I just assumed they had gotten crazy too. Just a whole wall of floor to ceiling windows and a vaulted ceiling. Dinner will be about $4k for 120ppl ,a buffet with 3 different meat options, plus pasta and including table wine! 😀
The Boy agrees that’s awesome and thinks the room looks really pretty and is happy with it. So if our date is open, I think we have out venue!!! Yaaaaay!
Now he just has to hurry up and propose so that I can book the bloody thing. (Neither us consider us actually engaged until he asks and I say yes. We are holding fast to that tradition. No shopping or booking allowed until then. We are only talking about venues do to financial realities. Sometimes you just have to be practical.)
