I am in tears right now.
We found a DJ on Craigslist. He was great w/ coorespondence, he seemed to have quite a number of years of experience and just was very matter-of-fact. We met w/ him back in June & everything about him was awesome. We gave him a $250 deposit & everything seemed fine.
I called him yesterday at noon to make sure he would still be there & to let him know I would be emailing him our playlists today. I never heard back from him, but as the day went on I forgot. So I text him 45 mins ago and have yet to hear anything.
Am I overreacting?? Seriously. I think at this point I just need reassurance. I really don’t know what to think. Yesterday I was SO sick & just stressed out, and I can’t see today being any much better because of this.

It’s okay sweetie, it was just yesterday. Don’t worry yet, he probably just hasn’t gotten back to you 🙂 If you don’t hear from him by this evening/tomorrow morning, then consider an alternative such as an iPod and rented sound equipment.
Everything is going to work out just fine *hugs*

Why don’t you call him? Some people are slow to respond to email and texting can be hit-or-miss. There have been times when I’ve not recieved text messages people have sent me and vice versa.

Since you just tried to contact him yesterday, I’d give him a few days. It is not necessarily a scam.

she did call him ‘yesterday at noon’
but I agree if you mean that she should call him again.

A friend is telling me the same thing you ladies are…calm down, it hasn’t even been 24 hours, give him until the weekend or something!
@camrie: My first point of contact was a call, but it went straight to voicemail. He had told me before that text is easiest for him, but still haven’t heard from him that way either.
I’m trying to tell myself that maybe he’s waiting to look @ our playlists before contacting me. It’s so close to our wedding, I’m freaking out over everything! Hence me being sick :-/

Don’t want to scare you but the last THREE weddings I’ve been to have had DJ’s bail out on them. One was lucky, the DJ bailed out two weeks before the day, the other one, lucky I guess, he sent a replacement THE WEDDING DAY but without the play list and the last one, a destination wedding in Bahamas, he just didn’t show up the day before the wedding and stopped answering his calls. Don’t mean to scare you but please, please, have a back up!

@bRooklynRocks: I will start looking into a replacement by tomorrow morning. I’m trying to be optomistic.
I’d be pissed no matter who it was, but it’s the DJ!! The person to make or break a party. Our families are SO looking forward to the DJ & dancing & partying. The music is a HUGE deal, so an iPod will not cut it.
I’m sending him our playlist right now. How should I word the email so he knows I expect a call back from him today? Should I just tell him flat out that he’s making me nervous so I’d appreciate him being in contact?

just say “please call or e-mail to confirm that you received this playlist”

He just called!! He said he did receive my email & everything is still in order & he will be there. I was so happy & relieved I could’ve cried. I seriously feel so stress free right now! Aahh…
