The other day my mom calls me and tells me she bought her MOB dress. She has good tastes and a great body (I really hope I look like that when I’m her age!) But when my FH and I saw it for the first time, we both had surprised grins on our faces as if she were playing an April Fools’ prank on us. The first words out of my mouth were literally “are you joking? – this is an April Fools’ joke right?” As we had played several pranks on each other this April, I genuinely thought she was pranking us. Don’t get me wrong – she looked stunning in it – but FH and I thought It would be more appropriate for a ballroom dancing competition than a wedding. She took it pretty well though, and thankfully we found out that she bought 2 dresses that day, one of which looked much more… appropriate. I’m actually quite glad she bought her dress just after April Fools’ because I wouldn’t have known how to tell her that I didn’t like it for a MOB dress! I explained to her how great she looked in it but that I didn’t think it was a suitable MOB dress and she understood.
Writing a post about the dress without posting a picture didn’t make any sense. I took a picture of me wearing it. It looks quite silly on me though because it doesn’t fit my small chest. When my mom wears it, it shows quite a bit of cleavage in addition to parts of the stomach:
So what do you think? Is it inappropriate, borderline inappropriate, or perfectly acceptable?
