I posted a couple weeks ago that I was considering getting my ears pierced, and most of you said to go for it. Well, I found a piercing place that got great reviews on yelp, and I went yesterday with one of my bridesmaids.
I was surprised to learn that if you get your ears pierced with a needle, like they do at body piercing places, it only takes 2 weeks to heal versus 6 weeks if you get them pierced with a gun like at Claire’s. I’m pretty psyched about that.
Show me your favorite pair of earrings- I have some shopping to do!

@vermonster: I got my ears pierced a couple of years ago and just can’t get in the habit of wearing earrings! I think it’s so foreign to us gals that didn’t have pierced ears when we were younger. I’m on the lookout for earrings too. I was thinking I could always replace statement necklaces with drop/chandelier earrings for a different look.
I got my first hole pierced with a gun, and then last year I added a second hole, pierced at a tattoo studio with a needle. The needle was way better. No idea why I have two holes in each ear when I don’t even wear earrings, haha.

@vermonster: Just to note: No piercing takes 2 weeks to heal! Many people will say 4-6 weeks for a needle, 6-8 weeks for a gun, but in reality its just 6 weeks until your piercing is less prone to infection. Good piercers will tell you 6-8 weeks before you can change them, 2-3 months till fully healed. 🙂
Just to note I have a triple lobe in one ear a double in the other, two done with a needle three done with a gun 🙂

i have two pairs of diamond studs. i believe one is 1/8ctw and one is 1/4ctw. they’re small, but they stay in my ears 24/7. they go with everything, they don’t irritate my ears, and they sparkle. they’re my go-to earrings. i have two holes in each ear, so i always have a pair in, no matter what.
when i’m not wearing my studs, i stick to small gold hoops, or a pair of pearl studs. or if i feel like adding color- i wear fun cheap colored earrings or long chandelier earrings.

I had all my holes 4 in each ear) done when I was 10 and younger so I got them all with a gun :-/ . One time the gun (disposable from Walmart lol) got stuck, ouch! Anyways, I don’t have pics but my favorite earrings are my opal earrings 🙂 . I have regular white ones (forget what type they are) and black ones which are gorgeous in light. I’m on my way to collecting different stones like moon stone , sun stone, lapis , tiger eye, sapphire etc.

Congratulations! My Fiance makes fun of me all the time because the first thing I do when I wake up is put my earrings in, sometimes even before I put my glasses on lol which means I blindly feel around on the nightstand for them haha. I don’t feel right not wearing them. When I was younger/in college I used to rock a very short pixie and I’d experiment a lot with earrings–feathery, dangly, you name it. But now that I’m a ripe old 28 and I wear my hair longer, I stick to studs and huggies…but when I go out I’ll still wear my bamboos or large hoops! lol I’ll probably start lazily saving soon to get some large diamond studs.
I can’t decide on a favorite pair but I wear these two a lot, I love David Yurman and they’re easy and professional looking for work.

My favourites are these pearl earrings from Tiffany’s. I’ve worn them every single day for almost two years (: They were a Christmas gift from my Fiance.
