OH NO! I bet you could wear the splint up until the wedding and then get the surgery after if its not fixed.
OH NO! I bet you could wear the splint up until the wedding and then get the surgery after if its not fixed.
Thanks for the sympathy @emilygrace07 =)
I go to see the surgeon tomorrow, so hoping that goes well. As of now I have to wear the splint (a lovely huge plastic thing) until May 22nd. Which is plenty of time before the wedding, I suppose.
It just sucks, this isn't going to make working out/toning up for the wedding any easier.
I'm so sorry :(
I am a firm NON supporter of dodgeball and dodgeball-esque games, haha. I broke my wrist playing that game and everyone laughs when I tell them that...but obviously it can be dangerous. Hopefully you'll be all healed up soon!
@Ms.Pink: Wow, that sucks! I usually don't participate, but the kids talked me into it. Next time I listen to my gut instinct! lol I will be a fellow non-supporter of it from now on!

I thought I sprained my finger the other day when playing a dodgeball-like game at work (an after school program), and after seeing the doctor, it turns out I tore the ligament at the very top part of my finger. I have to keep it in a splint 24 hours a day for the next 6 weeks or so, and will be seeing a plastic surgeon sometime soon.
It might heal itself if I can keep it straight all the time, so the ligament reattaches, but it might take surgery to do it instead. And my wedding is in less than two months!! I obviously know my finger is more important than the wedding, but after two years of planning WHY did this have to happen now!? I do NOT want my wedding pictures to include a huge cast or splint on my effing finger. Ugh...remind me to just watch the kids play the game next time.
Oh, it's also on my right hand, and I'm right handed.
/end rant.
