I usually do easy work out, or take a week off. PMS is usually my cheat week basically.

@Mrs.Jansen:  It sucks now but will be so worth it.  When you are done you will be so grateful you got some exercise. Then reward yourself with at leastvpart of that cupcake 😉

@Mrs.Jansen:  do a light workout (dont over do it) and eat a square of dark chocolate later or some frozen dark chocolate yogurt.

oh, and if it makes you feel better I skipped the gym and did come home and eat two cupcakes because I am PMSing. And I feel even worse then I did before. If I would have did a light workout and ate a sensible dinner I would feel much better right now….

A healthy chocolate shake as a treat after your workout might do the trick… just use some chocolate almond milk, a banana, and ice blended together. Delicious and chocolatey!

Mr. Cupcake makes the best Chocolate Overload cupcake! I hate that they are only in NJ. I stop at one every time I’m in that part of NJ. Sooooooooooo good. I replaced my usual lunch with a salad for two weeks so that I wouldn’t feel so guilty when I indulge on Mr. Cupcakes this Friday.

@bestbuddies:  Agree with this!

I think once you work up a sweat you’ll remind yourself why it is you’re doing this. Stay strong and don’t give in. Funny enough, I don’t like cake or cupcakes, and yet earlier I was reading and suddenly all I wanted was a chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing.

I reward myself with a litte treat. “yes I want 3 chocolate chip cupckakes…. but, if I beat my previous time on the treadmill by 5 minutes, I will have a few chocolate covered raisins when I get home.”

I think you need to endulge with small portions of treats, otherwise you are bound to gorge when you’ve hit your breaking point. Another trick I like is if I buy something like cupcakes, I will cut them in half, only keep one out, and freeze the rest. That way, when you’re tempted, it’s more of a hassle to get it out of the freezer, thaw it out… sometimes by the time I do that, I don’t want it anymore, and end up giving it to DH!

As far as I see it, it’s awesome that you’ve made a lifestyle change, but you still need to live, and enjoy life! Congrats, and good luck!
