So I was laying in bed the other night and randomly had the idea that it would be super cute if my girls carried balloons instead of flowers, plus it would save some money on the florist! After some quick googling, here are some photos I came across.

I am afraid that my ladies or FI or mom or some random person that isn't even invited to the wedding will laugh at me when I suggest this. What do you ladies think?!
It looks cute and quirky. If it fits into the rest of your wedding theme/feel, go for it.
I think it is adorable! I would at least suggest it if it is something you like. If it turns out your FI, mom, or girls don't like it maybe you can reconsider, but I wouldn't worry what random people think!
Also, just wondering, is your wedding outdoors? I noticed all of these pics are outside and I wonder if would look as cute inside... just something to think about!
Just another thought, what if the balloons burst? (sorry, I'm a worrier). You could double balloon, to be on the safe side.
The round one's in the last pic wouldn't pop so those are a plus. You need to find the faux type and then I think it's ok
I LOVE the last picture! If you like it, go for it. I am doing roughly 639 things that my guests will probably question (not too traditional), but I'm doing it anyways because I would regret it otherwise :)
I think this is AWESOME!
I especially love the huge ones in the last picture. Makes me want to hug them :D
Also, heres a link that I found for the giant balloons. Just in case you decide to go with that... :)
@MrsAlbright: Yes, my wedding is going to be outdoors. I, also, am not sure how they would look inside.
@Ms.Pink: OMG! They have polka dot ones! eeee!
I wouldn't do it, unless we did it only for some pics. I think that was the case with the first pics -the green dresses.
Look at the last pic with the multi colored large ballons. The balloons are the focus of attention, not the bride and groom.
I think maybe they would be really distracting and blowing around/bumping people in the face down the aisle. They look cute for the photos after the ceremony, but I wouldn't hold them during.
I think it's freaking cute! The most irritating thing that I came across while wedding planning was when people would poo-poo on my fun/quirky ideas. I finally learned, you know what, it's OUR wedding, and we'll do what WE want, and I couldn't care less if someone thinks it's dumb/weird/whatever. Go for it if it's what you envision for your big day...I love it!!
First of all, it's adorable. Secondly, though, I would worry about wind and having the balloons attack your bridesmaids, lol. But, it really is adorable!
Love it! I've been laughed at by my mom for ideas that I thought were pretty mainstream. Haters gonna hate!!
I think its so cute! Would be unique and I bet your guests would love it.
Very cute! We had the three boys (my stepson and two nephews) in our wedding carry balloons. When we tried to explain what a wedding was, we told them it was a big party and the first thing they asked was "Will there be cake and balloons?!", how can you say no to that?!
Sorry I don't want to post photos of the kids, but you can get the jist of it with them in the background. They weren't arranged, they were just wherever said kid was sitting. It looked pretty cute (and easy for parents to find them, lol!). We used the big round ones and it took A LOT of helium to blow them up, so heads up! I think a tank that normally fills 40 balloons, we got about a dozen out of, if that.

@Stassney: I think the big completely round balloons in your last picture are nice. The flags are a nice touch too.
Personally I am not a fan. Balloons remind me of a birthday party not a wedding. But if you like and want to do it then do it
I think it's a great idea! Will they let them go when they pronounce you husband and wife? What color / colors would you do?
@meant2B: I was totally thinking they could let them go when we kiss! I am not sure on colors yet.
@jo.lee: I was thinking the same thing.... If the ceremony is outdoors and there's any wind at all, the balloons would probably be knocking around and attacking their heads! There's also the possibility that one (or two! or five!) could pop during the ceremony.
I think it would make for really cute pics though. If it were me, I'd probaby get some to use as props during pics, but have BMs carry flowers down the aisle... Also, it might be a bit much for your MOH to try to wrangle all her balloons AND the bridal bouquet during the ceremony.
CUTE! I honestly would do them for pics only. Walking down the aisle could be a total disaster! I always prepare for the worst scenario. Definitely for pictures though!! if you're trying to save money, go to a local farmer's market and just get wildflowers the morning of for the girls to carry. I wish I had thought of that before spending a grand on freaking flowers!
Its a really cute idea but I'm terrified of ballons popping! If I was in your wedding I don't think you could get me to carry a bunch of them and I would always be expecting them to pop in the heat.
Cute idea but I definitely think there are lots of ways this could go wrong. Even if they don't pop, if you have a very windy day, it could be a lot for the ladies to wrangle them. Also, as a bridesmaid, I wouldn't like to stand with my hands behind my back the way the ladies in the last picture are standing.
I think it's cute, but I also think it takes the focus away from the people in the photographs.
Its interesting. But like other have said I can see it going wrong (wind, awkward to hold, they could pop) plus it realy does remind me of a birthday party. But if you feel like its really you and it goes with your wedding, then why not.
if it's you, I say do it! Don't worry about what everyone else thinks.
The 3 foot balloons don't look like a birthday party, and if you use them minimally, they look awesome! I'm using them as aisle decor for the ceremony (every other row for a total of 6 balloons), and then they will be used as "centerpieces" for the tables each hanging/floating at different heights. And, of course, some photos with my wedding party. If you google search wedding photography balloon --there are a number of really awesome pictures with balloons!
I think its cute! It will save a lot of money and even give a pop of color if you want it. If this is the feel you are going for I say do it. Its your wedding and this will be something that makes your day stand out from most.
I think it would be a really cute idea and would go especially well with an outdoor wedding. What colours were you hoping to do?
I dont like balloons so I would say no to this idea, esecially no the regular egg shaped balloons. If they are the round balloons they would look slightly better but I still wouldnt be impressed if I attended a wedding that had these.
I love ballons and they make me so very happy, I myself have been trying to think of a way to use them (im getting married in a church so ceremony isnt an option) I say go for it!
I am all about adding your own personality to a wedding. So I say if you are a ballon girl go for it. Personally I think it is ADORABLE but it is just not me. I am a traditional, old world kind of girl. But something that everyone told me was not "cool" at my wedding is a fur muff. But I am getting married in December and I wanted a tiny bit of fur in the wedding (faux by the way) so I am doing it. It is so me! I think the most beautiful weddings are those where you can look around and say " that is SO her". I hate it when a wedding looks like the Mother of the Bride or worse - the MOH. I went to a wedding recently where the bride and groom processed out of the church to the theme from Stars Wars! It was just them and it fit. Have fun!
