Oh man. I broke the news to FI today that we have to go to Crate & Barrel to finish up our registry because my MOH is ordering shower invites on Wednesday. He travels for work M-F so this is literally our only option.
You'd think I was the most evil, two-headed monster on earth. I like football too, but come on!
lol!! awww .... im so glad my dh doesnt enjoy sports.... i might just die! the only time i dont see him for awhile is when there is a new modern warfare playstation game or deerhunting season lol! :)
HAHA my FI would say that about me! I watch more football than he does :) However, spending time with my FI will always come before football.
I mean I enjoy watching a game or two here and there as much as the next person but as an adult my life doesn't revolve around it. urgh. i feel like during football season I'm the only person in our house that takes care of....life.
And now that his team has miraculously made it to the conference championship....everything else in life has completely come to a halt.
My husband is obsessed and I really mean OBSESSED!! with soccer. Like we went to a soccer match during our honeymoon! (I like soccer too and I enjoyed it but sometimes its like ok Enough!) He'd never wake up early on a Saturday morning unless the Manchester United is playing at like 5 AM! he'll skip dinner with my family to watch his team play. He has a soccer future figured out for our future children and all that stuff. Anyways that's why I'm here instead of chilling in the couch with him. I've watched two soccer matches this morning I've had enough. Just bear with him, it drives me crazy sometimes but at least he's addicted to soccer not crack LOL!
The Ravens and the Patriots game today has taken over the household. Both evil teams to Steelers fans like DH and I... but he'd be crushed if I dare suggested doing anything OTHER than watching football all season long. *sigh* It's like his religion.
I'm so glad current BF isn't into football. I had a long distance ex who was obsessed to the point I would come down to visit and we would watch hour after hour of football. It got to the point one weekend where I was soooo pissed at him that I forced him to go out to dinner and it happened to be the one game that was "exciting." Boy I'm glad I'm not with him anymore...
Hahaha. Thank God FI hates all sports except soccer, and the world cup only comes every 4 years :)
Luckily we both LOVE football! This game today is like me cheering for the lesser of two evils. Hate hate HATE the Pats, and not a big fan of the Ravens either. However, I live in Indy and the thought of Pats fans invading my city makes me wanna cry, so I will cheer on the Ravens!
I'm actually a Super Bowl volunteer and can't wait for next week to start! It's gonna be crazy in this city!
My FI is crazy about football and his team is the 49ers so he is VERY excited today! I'm super excited for him, too, and most of the time try to think of this as his fall/winter "hobby." I also enjoy watching so it's not TOO bad, but it can get pretty annoying if I want to do something fun and all he wants to do is watch football, especially if it's two teams that he doesn't really care about playing. I'm like, why does this game matter to you!?
@Robin_Sparkles: Super Bowl volunteer, that sounds awesome! What kind of stuff will you be doing? My mom actually went to the Super Bowl when my sister and I were little and my dad stayed home and took care of us, haha.
GO 49ERS! :-)
@Robin_Sparkles: Haha we both love football too! Although I have to say I'm cheering on the Pats today! FI is from Massachusetts so I'm all about the Pats, Red Sox, and Bruins (hate basketball, sorry Celtics!). I'm actually wearing the shirt FI got me for Christmas that says "Married Into It: Boston Fan"
I am so lucky here...DH does not care much about sports. If he knows there is a game on he will wnat to watch it but he usually has no idea. I dont "flip channels" and he doesnt watch TV so he usually doesnt know. LOL.
BUT, DH is a huge PC gamer so its like football season is all year for you ladies :D
@Meowkers: I AGREE 100%! The only cool thing is that he proposed on Super Bowl Sunday last year so I can't be too upset. If I had to pick a team it would be the Ravens so I can't be upset about him watching it today either.
My so has season tickets to the patriots.... I kind of like The time to myself, but iI am ready have him back.
@aicila: If Brady keeps throwing these interceptions you may not have to wait any longer haha
I would much rather my FI be addicted to sports than our damn iPad...there is no off season for those iPad games....
@Robin_Sparkles: So jealous you get to work the Superbowl! I know it's a crazy, crazy time but UGH! So wish I was in your position! And I second your thoughts on the Patriots. I can't stand them... plus, they're just not nice. I root for any team opposite of them, too. Like you said, lesser of two evils... just like voting for president, ha!
Bear goose I hope the don't lose... It would break his little heart. He was all set to go this morning wearing patriots gear from head to toe. He even bought his blanket lol
LMAO @ Au Jardin...there is no off season for those iPad games <<<<<that cracks me up
Seriously, I am very grateful my SO doesn't watch football and I could care less too. I get annoyed enough by the minute by minute updates on the games on Facebook from all my friends! Haha. I too, will be happy when the season is over! :)
@aicila: Aw too cute! I'm hoping they win. I'm a little nervous that FI is working on our save the dates while watching...don't want any angry paper cutting going on, would rather they not look like our cat got to them hahaha
Haha when I met DH he didn't watch football at all but I love it, I'm watching it right now! :) At first he would get mad that I wouldn't talk or do anything on sundays but eventually he started liking football and now we watch it together or he knows to just leave me alone.
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em right?
I think I'm more fired up for this game than Mr. Mink. :)
Go, Brady, Go!
@mink: That sounds like our house ... EXCEPT .. it's GO RAVENS!!!
Mr. HIP is reading about basketball on the laptop lol
@aicila: Haha, that is too cute! My FI went to bed last night wearing his Niners jersey inside out and backwards...I was like, Uh, what are you doing?? Definitely took a photo...He said it was for luck, he'd wear the white one to bed and the other one (that I gave him) all day today. We'll see if it works, haha.
@Meowkers: Does your DH go to the games with all of his friends too? Don't you just hate that when they spend all day at the stadium every week for college and NFL. Worst yet is when DH is home he plays video games. The worst is when he watches all of his "guy" shows on TV every night. I try to get into them but they are clearly not for me. I guess people sometimes need their time.
I'm glad someone said it. I want my man back on Sundays! We have a house and a kid and ya know... life to take care of. Those Christmas lights aren't going to un hang themselves buddy.
@Meowkers: totally agree! haha my FI is soooo into it!!! but I can't get too upset because he watches the real housewives and teen mom with me lol so I either watch it with him or leave him to be when he watches it with his family or guy friends!
@kitty123: he doesn't go to the games because we don't have a team here in LA. BUT he goes to his friends' houses every week to watch. So he's out of the house and basically MIA for the entire day anyways. If he stayed home to watch the games sometimes maybe I wouldn't be so irritated because then I could at least have him around.
The superbowl is always one of my favorite days of the year because after that I get my DH back. So looking forward to it this year.

I think this pretty much says it all.
End of football cannot come soon enough!
