I housesit and babysit (overnight sometimes) for a father who often goes out of town. Well he came home from his last vacation yesterday, and I haven’t heard from him yet. He still owes me from the last housesitting and babysitting, probably at least $200 and I hate asking people to pay me even though I know I should be getting it. Is there a delicate way of asking without sounding too pushy or annoying?

He probably just got home & didn’t think about it. Does he normally pay you right when he gets back? I thought that usually that’s when you pay babysitters. Maybe just call & ask when a good time would be to come by for your paycheck this week?

I am the same way. I hate asking even though its rightfully mine. This used to happen all the time with a lady I babysat for. Instead of putting my big girl panties on and asking I would always just casually mention something if I saw her like, “Oh hey, I found a super cute shirt I want to buy with the money from babysitting Joel” ya know something to trigger the memory.
