Thanks for the info! Such a bummer I can't apply to be a hostess because I work in the industry :(
I applied to be a hostess a few weeks ago but received the following email…
“We're sorry but we already have a batch of hostesses under consideration. Thanks for your interest. You may want to try again in a few months!”
Considering the suggestion to try again in a few months, should I assume that my application is not being considered?
@UpstateCait: I got the same email - I was told that they would let me know when to resubmit.
I got the same email about two weeks ago about the Hostess. Basically it said that she will email me again when they are reviewing applications again.
We have had overwhelming responses to our calls for hostesses these days. Picking hostesses is a very labor intensive process. We review 100's of post by each applicant to make sure they exhibit the characteristics we're looking for to represent a great Weddingbee attitude to our other board bees. Because it is such a labor-intensive process, we review applicants at times when we need to add hostesses due to attrition or community growth. Right now we have a very strong and active hostess team and we just finished a selection. This means it will be a few months (probably late summer) before we review applicants again.
Cait and others who got that email, it's because you applied right at the end of a review round. It was too late to add new applicants to the review process because of the time and energy we spend on each applicant. I'll let you all know when we do another selection.
I hope that clears some things up!

...A Blogger Bee
Many of you read the blog and have wondered how one goes about blogging for Weddingbee. Our team of bloggers is a group of brides (and the occasional groom) around the world that have elected to share their wedding planning journey with us. If you're a wedding blogger, we'd love to follow your wedding blogging journey as well! If you’re interested in applying to the Weddingbee blog, check out Mrs. Bee’s guidance on how to do so here: http://www.weddingbee.com/weddingbee-bloggers/.
I know the editors would love to accept each and every blog applicant that comes through their inbox, and wish they could take on the entire swarm of bees that apply! However there are a limited amount of slots available at any given time. To help you know what the blogger bee committee is looking for in potential applicants, there are a set of blogging guidelines available here: http://www.weddingbee.com/blogging-tips-and-guidelines/.
And for an inside look at how many of the past and current bloggers got their start, check out the Becoming a Bee series on the blog! http://www.weddingbee.com/tag/becoming-a-bee/
Even if you're not currently eligible to apply for the main blog, if applications aren't your thing but you're looking for readers, or if the 20+ daily updates to the Weddingbee blog don't fill your need for wedding porn, look for our Share Your Blogs thread at the top of the boards each month as well. You can post a link to your personal blog and find loads of others to follow!
...A Hive Hostess
Our wonderful Hive Hostesses help to facilitate community in the Hive. If you’d like to learn more about the Hostesses and what it takes to be one, check out our Wiki page here: http://wiki.weddingbee.com/Hive_Hostesses
And if you’d like to apply (we’re always accepting applications), there’s more info on how to do so here: http://www.weddingbee.com/hive-hostesses/
...Featured on the Blog
Even if your wedding has passed, it's not too late to be featured on the blog! The Real Weddings feature is one of my personal favorites. Just as its name suggests, it showcases real weddings!
For more information on how to submit your wedding for consideration, check out the submission form here: http://www.weddingbee.com/featured-weddings. And to see Real Weddings featured in the past, check out the series on the blog: http://www.weddingbee.com/author/realweddings/
The blog editors also frequently choose user posted Bios, DIY posts and Classified Ads to feature on the blog as well, so keep your profile updated to be considered.
