Searching the web, I can only find brides with curly updos, curly halfway updos, and totally down curly ‘dos (haha) My hair does not hold a curl, tried time and time again between different formal events to rock a curly hairstyle, but it falls within a couple hours. I would love to see some brides that wore their hair straight at their wedding. Would be an amazing plus if anyone wore their hair pulled to one side because this is the way I want to wear my hair. Looking forward to some photos!

My hair has quite a bit of wave, but it behaves best if I straighten it, so that’s probably what I’ll be doing for my wedding. Plus I prefer a simple, sleek, modern look. I’m thinking about pulling it to one side too.

It just seems to me like 9 out of 10 brides wear their hair with a curl! Any formal event really, all the girls want their hair curled. What is up with that?!

@HelloRaeven: None of these are me, but I decided to google some! My hair didn’t hold a curl until recent years. I find letting my iron get hot for 30 minutes first helps a lot as well as using a teasing brush to give my hair some volume.
This one isn’t straight, but I think this could be done with straigh hair and could be worn with a pretty comb on the side or a bird cage veil.
You’re right; there are literally like no straight wedding hair styles!

I wore mine down and straight! I had it washed, dried and then straightened at the hair salon and loved the result. Mine is naturally straight anyway and doesn’t hold a curl for long – no matter how much spray/products you cover it with! – and I totally hate the “neither one thing nor another” look when the curls start dropping out.

@HelloRaeven: My hair doesnt hold curl either but my stylist used a Kenra hairspray and it did fall but it fell to loose bouncy curls instread of the tighter ones I will have for te ceremony which is fine since I want a different/more fun look for the reception.

My hair is the same that it doesnt hold a curl for nothing. im still doing a curly updo but what im doing is I got some curly clip in extensions. My hair will all be pinned up under the curls. Just a suggestion

Heres some I found… helps if you google “braided” as those tend to be straight 🙂

I never understood why formal hair somehow always seems to mean curled with a curling iron, even for women with shorter hair.
I have a bias cut bob and I’ll be wearing it straight.

My updo was straight. My hair doesn’t hold a curl for long and I wasn’t risking it on my wedding day!

Yay! Finally some responses!

I may wear my hair straight on my wedding day.
Not only does my hair not hold curls, but curls just aren’t me! I’ve done it a few times here and there (usually with overnight rollers so they stay curled) but I feel weird and un-me whenever I do.
My mother says I look “Very I-talian” in my dress with my hair completely down (I’m Italian, she isn’t). I laughed at her until I looked in a mirror… and then I agreed with her.
It’s OK! It’s a very lovely look. 🙂
