I’m so excited. My hubby is finally buying me an engagement ring which we couldn’t afford when we got married around 3 years ago.
I initially wanted a blinged-out white gold halo setting (0.72 carats) and therefore would have needed to buy a new matching band. However, I tried on a yellow gold solitare just over 1 carat and it took my breath away. It also matched my current wedding band perfectly which is a channel set diamond band.
My hubby loved it because it was so elegant and made a funny comparison. The yellow gold solitare was more Charlize Theron, timeless and elegant and apparently made the halo look more like Mila Kounis or Kim Kardashian. Make of that what you will… I still like halos but for me they couldn’t compare to the yellow gold solitare.
Please show me yours! Or anything similar

Mine’s not a solitaire, but it’s close, the same shape anyway because my baguettes are thin.
The center is only 1/2carat though, not as big as yours. My finger is 4 1/2, but loose, so maybe 4 1/4?

@Purple_Bride: Your ring is gorgeous! The baguettes give it an original edge

lol! I totally agree with your husband’s Charlize Theron vs. Kim K analogy 🙂

@tadblingobsessed: Here’s mine. 1.25 carat yellow gold knife edge that looks nearly identical to the Tiffany Knife Edge.

@6598731ssfse3: I loveeeeeeeeeeee your ring. Its exactly the one we have chosen. Your diamond is probably a little bigger. So beautiful!!
@joya_aspera: yeah, he’s a funny one. That analogy affirmed I made the right choice! Lol
@FauxPas2012: that’s ok. Pls post when you can.

Sorry not exactly a solitaire, but close enough I hope…
IMO the yellow gold is quite elegant and luxurious looking. I own WG, YG, RG jewelry, they’re all gorgeous.

God, you guys’ rings are phenomenal. Have always loved yellow/rose gold and am a half-step away from selecting a rose-gold wband. I’ve got 4 months to make a final decision and it is looking like I’m going to custom up a rose-gold band with a sliver of platinum in it. It’ll match my new hubs’ style ring, but my metals/colors will be these. Beautiful rings everyone!
