I’ve never heard of this, but I’m not a fan of apps and “making” guests use them. I can’t have apps on my phone, so I’d be unable to use it and would feel very left out. I know half of my guests would be unable to partake in this. Can you have some disposable cameras for those who don’t want to or can’t use this app?

LOVE photo sharing/wedding realted apps like this. However, not everyone has phone’s that are capable of apps. I would also setup a flickr or photobucket account, print out little cards with the address on it so guests can upload there too.

i agree with pps.. maybe still get a few disposable cameras for those who do not have the capability to download the app? awesome idea though for those who can get it!!

I second the suggestion from

about a Flickr account. I went to a Destination Wedding for which the bride & groom created a paid (for extra storage) account and distributed the username and password afterwards. The guests were able to upload and share all the pictures we’d taken over our week in tropical paradise, with the ability to download and save anyone else’s pictures if they liked. I know it worked especially well because it was a very small Destination Wedding, but it’ll work for smartphone users and digital cameras too. And speaking as someone who is deeply attached to my smartphone,I would still prefer Flickr. A lot of camera apps are slow and fussy, and I wouldn’t want every pic I took to automatically upload, but I also wouldn’t want to be picking and choosing, dealing with the quirks of an unfamiliar app, etc when id rather be enjoying my friend’s wedding

You should look into Married too (themarriedapp.com) – it’s live pictures + a lot of other features for your guests…iPhone and Android ๐Ÿ™‚

@siouxfallsbride212:  i love the idea of the apps/ websites but my best friend tried to do this and not one person used it. NOT ONE. total bummer. maybe a mix of both disposables and the app? especially if you have older family members/ guests. i feel like the only people that would actually post to an app would be people under 40 ish. (hence my friends problem.. a lot of older family that didn’t bother)

I made an account on shutterfly and we have cards printed up that we’ll be giving out, along with the user log-in info. We just used the generic user password ‘wedding’

We also put our emails on the cards in case anyone wanted to email their pictures to us instead of using the shutterfly account…hopefully guests use it, we’ll find out next weekend

@Styles:  That’s a good idea, but I would be concerned about 1) cameras walking away and 2) the fact that the cheaper one is  only 2.1 MP. Most phones right now have 10 MP and even disposable cameras are higher resolution. The 7.8 MP one isn’t terrible, I would just be worried about someone’s shady cousin taking it…that is, if you had to invite that shady cousin.

I’m using WedPics. We will see how it goes, I’ll report back to you after the wedding. I have a bunch of techie friends, though, so it should go over pretty well.

I get your point, I guess it depends on the guests you invite as I wouldnt worry about that with mine.

Remember digital cameras started with a low MP and the prints are just fine. You can easily make 11X14 and 8×10’s with 2.1MP. ๐Ÿ™‚ You dont need a high MP count for a great print you just cant go really large.

Good luck on your day! ๐Ÿ™‚

@Styles:  Ha yeah, I mean I’m not inviting a bunch of hoodlums to my wedding or anything. I just don’t want to present the option for a little one who might not know better to take it and run with it.

But we shall see what happens!
