I wasn't crazy about how I looked either, it turned out to be sooooooooooooo humid on my wedding day. Like the most humid day I had ever experienced in my life. So we were all drippy and bloaty and our hairstyles fell out. But over time I became more okay with it because there's a couple nice ones and my friend also took amazing pictures at my reception so I have those. You only frame like one or two so hopefully you can find a couple you really like. Maybe have a friend photoshop some pretty black and white or other effects onto some pictures to make your natural look a little more... intentional looking?
I was disappointed at first, too. I did my hair myself, and I thought it looked way too simple, my veil was huge and weird, my dress was too long, etc. It took me a long time before I could even LOOK at the photos, I felt that bad about them. My advice is to give it time. I recently went back to the photos, over a year later, and I realized that they're not as bad as I thought. I'm far enough removed now from the event to see the photos more objectively. You really only need a few (even just 1 or 2) good ones out of the hundreds that were taken. And... I doubt the BMs looked better than you! We're just always so harsh on ourselves...
i was not a fan of my hairstyle. i didn't have a trial as i would have had to pay extra and fit it in my schedule the day before the wedding basically since my wedding was in Jamaica, i didn't get meet who was doing my hair and makeup before hand. I did bring a picture of a hairstyle i thought i wanted, but i didn't find it suited me very well and there was no time to change it up once she was done so i just accepted it. oh well. i didn't hate it, but i have liked my hair better in the past when i got it done to be a BM in other weddings. In hindsight i wished i went to a hairdresser in town before going to Jamaica to play around with styles i knew which i wanted and then brought that picture to Jamaica. what can you do? i thought bringing a picture would be failproof since my only bad experience before my wedding was when i was a BM once and i didn't bring a picture and then i HATED how she did my hair!

Definitely agree with this! I had other issues with my photos, not so much the way i looked, but i didn't like the ugly trees hanging overhead our ceremony site on the beach and i was upset we didn't get a lot of bridal party pictures. In fact we got no full length of me and my BMs on the beach which i had REALLY wanted....but in the end, i only framed a few pictures in a big collage frame i bought. For the frame i only wanted to put ONE bridal party photo and i had to pick between the TWO i loved! And i put one ceremony on the beach photo - and the one i chose i love because its a gorgeous blue background (water and sky) and you don't see the trees in this one that i hate in the other pics. so in the end, i am pretty thrilled with the pics i framed. AND the one i chose of DH and I to put in the center of the frame, i DO like my hair in it. It is fresh from the hairdresser and not yet messed up by the wind and the angle at which it was taken i actually really like my hair! Even though there are plenty of other photos in which I am not a fan of my hair. I realize now - who cares?! everything else about the day was perfect, i am certainly not going to let an imperfect hairstyle taint my memories of the day and love of my wedding pictures!
Ugh I know how you feel. My actual wedding I loved my pictures only taken by family because we had a private destination wedding. But I HATE my reception pictures taken by pro photog I look like crap.
I kind of felt like my hair turned out frizzier than I wanted, and my mom was obsessed with making my waist look tiny, and did my corset back up too tight and gave me back cleavage...

My makeup was sooo simple. I had a trial on both hair and makeup, but the day of my wedding the day seemed to go so fast and the makeup artist was rushing. Looking back, it was my mistake. If I could do it again, I would not let my bridesmaids do their hair and makeup with my stilist. By the time it was my turn she was rushing, and I looked pretty, but on my pictures it just wasn't enough. Meanwhile, my bridesmids look amazing :(
Any other bees that weren't thrilled with the way they looked?
