So I’ve been having a really hard time finding “the dress.” Yesterday I posted a poll with four options I had thus far and Maggie Sottero’s Adalee was the crowd favorite not to mention mine. The problem with Adalee is that she’s super uncomfortable. Today I went looking again and found a few more to add to the equation.
For the first time I took comfort into consideration while trying on. So the following are all pretty comfortable (sans Adalee). Just wanted to get some opionons on the the new ones from today 🙂
Maggie Sottero, Camden- The halter strap is detachable. This was also 8 sizes too big so the bust would look much better in my size. I actually went to the salon to try on this dress specifically because it was fitted but didn’t hug as low, allowing for movement.
La Sposa, Danza- The appliques were added on by the bridal consultant. It’s funny because this is so out of my comfort zone with the ruffles and all but I actually really loved it.
Maggie Sottero, Harmony- With and without the detachable straps. This one also has a slit up the front that you can’t see in my pictures 🙁
And here’s Maggie Sottero, Adalee again. Is she perfect enough that I should just suck up the discomfort? Mehh.
Sorry there’s so many! Thanks Bees, it helps to get opinions other than my mom’s 😉

I like them all, but I think the Harmony is my personal favorite.

Harmony is my first choice on you, Danza would be the runner up. Happy shopping! =o)

- Wedding: March 2012 - Pelican Grand Beach Resort
I like the first (without the strap) and the last the most, but I also like the second from last.

It took me so long to decide.. Girl, you have a rockin’ body! You look absolutely stunning in those dresses! I absolutely LOVE the halter in the 1st one.. I searched for a halter dress and never came across anything I liked…I wish I found this one!! But for you, I ended up picking the Adalee.. It’s sexy!!!

I like the Camden, and the Adalee.
For me, the Danza has too much going on, I’m not keen on the beading/bling and the skirt on the Enzoani; and the Harmony just does not do your figure justice IMPO.
Are you having a church ceremony where you need to kneel? As that could be an issue if your movement is very restricted in the Adalee. Otherwise, how much do you need to be able to move freely? Could you get by, then maybe switch in the evening to something more along the lines of the Harmony, that you’ll be able to dance etc in?
Otherwise, I really don’t know what to suggest; you obviously love that style, and it looks great on you, but unfortunately, it isn’t the best if you want to be able to move freely; so then you need to decide what your priority is: comfort, or style. One thing I would say is to make sure you can walk properly in it; I’ve seen a few brides ‘waddle’ for want of a better word, and IMPO, it ruined the dress, because no matter how beautiful, all I could think was ‘she’s walking like she needs the toilet’ (sorry to be blunt; just worth thinking about I thin; I would feel really self-conscious if I couldn’t walk properly)

i actually like the danza on you w/o the extra bling on it followed by camden and adalee

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Harmony was amazing because it seriously felt like I was wearing a slip. I would love to have her as a reception dress because I could really dance etc with her on but I’m worried that perhaps it doesn’t look as bridal as it should for the ceremony?
I love Gretchen’s bodice but am not sure how I feel about the full tulle skirt.
@barbie86 you pretty much hit the nail on the head with everything. I do kind of feel like im “waddling” in Adalee. Not enough for people to notice but walking is something that I really would have to focus on. If I didn’t have to move, it’s the perfect dress. And I would love to be able to get Adalee as a ceremony dress then switch but my budget doesn’t allow for that :-/

Could you perhaps go and try it on again, as well as another you like, and get someone to video you walking as if you were walking down the aisle? That way, you can actually watch back how you walk in them, and see if you do ‘waddle’ or not. Not sure if the shop would agree to it, but might be worth a thought.
Otherwise, I feel like the Camden might be easier to walk in; is that the case? If so, maybe don’t exhaust your search like that, and see if you can find anything with elements of both the Camden (in terms of shape) and Adalee (in terms of style, eg the slightly layered skirt)
But that’s just my opinion; like I said, I’d feel really self-conscious if I couldn’t walk down the aisle properly, plus our wedding is going to be a LONG day, and I need to be able to walk, sit, and dance comfortably; I’d hate to be uncomfortable.

You’d look good in even a paper sack – so I don’t think you could go wrong with any of them!

Definitely the Gretchen!! You look fantastic in that dress!

@barbie86: The video is something that I haven’t thought of but I love that idea. I’ll have to give it a try.
The Camden is definitely easier to walk in. I think I could do a cartwheel in Camden, she’s super comfortable. haha
@sienna76: aww thank you! 🙂
