@Chrysoberyl:  Hahaha. Yes please point out the purpose of this party because people have no idea what a baby shower is about.

I’m curious to read the reponses to this. Are you friends with this person?

Is that for real one of your “friends?”

Because… no thanks.  Congrats on making a girl… here’s some diapers?  Sure, I’ll be at the shower with pink shit?

So, it is a gender reveal party or a baby shower?  Rude, tacky, and unnecessary.

@Chrysoberyl:  gender reveal parties and baby showers are two different things….sounds like she didn’t get the memo. awkward.

@Chrysoberyl:  they literally could have just said “it’s a gender reveal/babyshower” and everyone would have gotten the point.  Tasteless.

Interesting.  I think it’d be a fun way to find out the gender, but with close friends and family only, in a pretty casual setting (BBQ?), and NO GIFTS.  We love parties and will find any reason to throw one.  But it wouldn’t be worth it if people felt like we were just making a gift grab.

And this FB post?  Pretty ballsy.  Inappropriate, but ballsy.
