When Jurassic Park was re-released, FI and I went to go see it (because, dinosaurs in 3D Imax? What’s not to love?). As the movie was starting, FI leans over and goes “we should have the theme music play at our wedding” – at first I laughed because it seemed so silly, but after googling different arrangements, I realized that, hey, it’s not the most ridiculous idea ever. It’s actually a really beautiful instrumental song.
So, I did some googling, and found a local quartette that has the Jurassic Park theme listed as part of their repertoire. A deposit check and a contract later, and bam! We will be recessing after the ceremony to the Jurassic Park theme. I’m so excited about this little tiny detail!

Awesome! Is it going to be a surprise, or does your FI know about it?

@StL.Ashley: Yep, you do! That is so awesome!

@Gemstone: right now it’s a surprise, but I kinda want to tell him because otherwise he might not notice. I’m just glad that it made the decision easy for us – I’m love classical music, so it would have been a difficult decision on my own.

oohh… I played that in string quartet in high school (they actually have books of movie theme arrangements for that type of thing) it was so pretty. The forrest gump theme was great on strings too.

Lucky! When we went to see it in 3D I wanted to use the music for the wedding too. I thought it would be great because my fiancé is a huge movie buff and it’s a classic piece. But when I suggested it he said it was to cheesey and people would think it’s weird.
