- Wedding: October 2012
Nope nope.. My sil and bil went there for destination wedding about a month ago. I could ask if you don’t get any other answers. It looked nice! And they had some fun excursions.
Ohhh, if you could get me any info about what kinds of excursions they have, that’d be great! Their website is bare bones!
Thank you! 🙂
I’ve stayed at the Iberostar Playa Paraiso Lindo which is on the same property. Nice resort, but the food wasn’t the greatest. The furnishings etc were a little dated too. Any specific questions?
We did one snorkeling excursion and the Coco Bongo ( a MUST do). Snorkeling was cool but they didnt tell us until we got there that we couldn’t use sunscreen because we snorkeled in the cenotes which they use for drinking water. I have super fair skin and got totally scorched. Honestly, if i had known that ahead of time, I wouldn’t have gone. They took us to a cenote, a cave, and then to the ocean. The ocean is the only place you actually get to see anything cool in terms of fish, sea turtles, etc.
The Coco Bongo is a club/show in Cancun. It was recommended to us and we decided to go on a whim one day. it was so much fun! We bought tickets through the resort and it included an open bar all night and a van ride there/back. Definitely worth it.
Oh this is where We were thinking of going so I want to follow this thread.Hope to see Some more reviews!
Bump. Any reviews? We are booked!
I heard the other iberostars in the DR are not very nice but the actual Grand Bavaro is top notch. I will let everyone know, i am going in 3 weeks! 🙂
@missnacholover I will for sure! it was so hard to pick a honeymoon location i would love to help any other brides out that i can. i will post pictures and a review for you bees when i get back!
I stayed at the Grand Bavaro Iberostar with my now husband in 2010 and we had a great time. The rooms are top notch, very luxurious and the service was great. It is a very quiet and relaxing hotel. There are a lot of activities that you can book outside of the hotel, but inside the hotel you are not going to find crazy or loud activity. Food was very good, but you won’t find a lot of the typical dominican food. Let me know if you have any questions.
