@bRiDe1011: We’re doing one for my sister’s wedding in two weeks. It’s a backyard tent wedding at my mom’s house, and we’re doing all the catering ourselves. We haven’t sorted out the logistics yet, but I’ll let you know how it goes!

We are going to have an ice cream sunday bar! We are going to go through Ben and Jerry’s, because that is my favorite ice cream place.

We’re doing a gelato bar! We contacted our favorite gelato place and they have a special cooler available for rent, 6 flavors for 150 people for four hours plus someone to serve it and all the cups and spoons and clean up is coming out to about $500 total.

@minipenguin: That’s AWESOME I’m amazed it was that affordable!
OP- Check out Kim Fisaro on Glamour.com. She runs the wedding blog, and she’s done a couple of posts on her ice cream/gelato bar!

Yep, we did one! There are a couple of threads on the boards about them, and they’ve varied from DIY to having vendors do them. My beach wedding was a bit on the casual side so I just bought vanilla ice cream and all the toppings and set it up ourselves. Have fun! (I wish I had candy, too – yum!!)
