Won’t it melt?  You would have to keep it in the freezer right until it’s time to cut.

I LOVE ice cream cakes!!! I would think the cake would need to be kept in the freezer at your venue until about 15 mns before you plan to cut and serve it though, so having it sit out on a table all night miiiiiight not be such a good idea lol. But the plus side to that is that you can have a big cake reveal! How fun! AND ice cream cakes are downright delicious. They are my favorite!!!

I looooove ice cream cake, but you’ll just have to check with your venue that they have somewhere to store it until you’re ready to serve it… otherwise if you leave that thing out obv it will melt everywhere.  Maybe rent a dummy cake if your heart is set on having the look of a wedding cake, but have some regular old sheet cake style ice cream cakes stored in the venue’s freezer for when it’s time to serve it!

Mmmmmm I want ice cream cake!

YUM!! I don’t really like cake but I LOVE ice cream 😀 As long as your caterer can figure out a way to store it without melting I say go for it!!

I wouldn’t worry at all.  if someone doesn’t like it, they don’t have to eat it.  but I think the majority of people will love it- I would!

I would love ice cream cake! We wanted to have our cake displayed, dispite the fact that I also have family members who could possibly stick their fingers in it. I’ve asked one of my cousins to be a “cake guard” 🙂 Our venue wouldn’t have gone for ice cream cake anyway, but we did get them to serve ice cream with the cake, yummy!

Guess I’m in the minority that I don’t really like ice cream cake?  I love regular cake though.

super tasty, but you realize that most cakes get dropped off at least an hour before the reception and you dont cut cake until after dinner – a minimum of a couple hours.  that cake will be liquid by the time you get to cut it!!!

I love ice cream cake, but I would worry about it melting, especially if there is a long line for people to get some!
