Commenting as I wish to follow! Thinking about having an outdoor wedding in NY but just not sure where, this sounds like a nice place! Can I ask is there a reason in particular why you want to go there? Thanks

The permit process is a piece of cake. Go to http://www.brooklynbridgepark.org/ and fill out an app. It’s very well organized. You’re in and out in no time. Once you pay the fee — something like 428.00, they issue the permit and send you a digital version that you print and take with you the day of the wedding.

We got married 6:00 pm 7/8/09 on the bridge. It is my favorite structure in the US.  Go ahead and check out how the bridge was built, great story  Check out the story on New York Daily NWes for Jack and Sandy Maynard. We didn’t  licence the ceremony, we just had the wedding party meet at city hall park.  We walked to the first area and had the cereways. It was the  most amazing moment in our lives. Do it if you have an interesT. It will be a moment to remember.

This is an old thread but maybe someone will be able to help….we are planning a wedding for next summer.  How did you coordinate the dates of the permit with the dates of the reception venue?  I don’t want to book either until I know we can get both dates, but I have been completely unable to get a response from anyone at Brooklyn Bridge Park.  Left voicemails, emails, keep calling, etc.  It is really disappointing as we are heavy users of the park (we go almost every single day).  I am getting nervous as there are only a few dates left for 2014 in the summer at the venues we are interested in.

Hi joanna329 did you have your wedding at the granite steps?  My original plan was to do the pebble beach as well but now construction will be going on.  Did the granite steps work out okay?  Where was your reception?  I am nervous this location may be too far from my reception at Galapagos Art Space in Dumbo.  Any insight is appreciated! Thanks!
