So I was thinking today about wine labels, beacause we are probably ordering custom made wine. I was very hesistant to do that because homemade wine usually isn’t as good, but we can’t afford to pay for store bought wine for the amount that we need! Ontario is expensive when it comes to liquor!
But getting the homemade wine can still be quite pricey when you start thinking about the cost of labelling the bottles. So I thought, hey, our wedding is summer casual… why not something cute and kooky? CHALKBOARD PAINT WINE LABELS! I immediately knew that there must be someone else who has already done this, so I trolled the internet for some photo inspiration and this is what I found:
I love it!! It would be a huge cost saver and also fairly unique – I don’t personally know anyone who has done it, anyways! haha. What do you girls think?? Anyone into this idea?

@carnivaltheme: They are cute, especially liked the one that had Cheers written on it.
From one Ontarian to another… be sure you know if your venue will allow you to bring DIY Wine… (even if it comes from one of those DIY Wine Places vs “Homemade Hooch”).
Oftentimes their License to serve alcohol ONLY allows for Beer, Wines & Liquors that come in from the LCBO (either provided by YOU or bought by THEM and then charged back to you with an allowance for a credit if you don’t use all the stock purchased)

Make sure your venue will allow homemade wine before you get someone to make it for you, please. Our venue would not allow it, but my brother’s venue did, so my dad made all of their wine.
For labels for their wedding, I had them printed through Vistaprint, using their large mailing labels. I smacked one of their engagement photos on as the background, and then added their married names & date, and voila- super easy, super inexpensive. Just another idea if you decide not to go the chalkboard route.

@This Time Round and @mrsjesse, I already checked just to be sure! We were in luck this time 🙂 They don’t allow any other alcohol off their licence unless it is custom wine made for weddings. yay!!! I think I’m going to for it. we ordered a small batch of the wine the other day so that we will be able to test it out first. if we like it, and order it, I think we are going to do the chalk thing – I think it will be a great little project to work on with my BM’s!
