i have been told that bunting is a must, i know this would be ok and it is something me and Fiance could put together ourselves. i’m looking more for a 50’s dance hall, i would love to do a diner style but i think that would be out of my budget with hiring in the furniture 🙂
one other idea i have is 50’s movie posters, most of the women in my family have agreed to dress up in 50’s dresses, so rather than having actuall movie stars i’m thinking of having a photo shoot done and getting my close female friends and family do the poses. it sounds like it could be expensive to do but i know a photographer who is trying to get a potfolio together and i think the grapic designer at work would blow them up for me 🙂

I’d watch movies that were actually from the 50s to get a better feel for the aesthetic back then. Grease was actually released in 1978, so I’m not sure how historically accurate it is. Also old TV shows like I Love Lucy might be good places to start. Or if you can get your hands on old magazines or books from that era.
