I did totes and I got a GREAT deal from here:
http://stores.ebay.com/Tinas-Embroidery-Shoppe
Not only did she create a specific auction for me because I needed a certain number of bags, she gave me a great discount (I paid $12 and soem change per bag instead of $17!)
I got them super fast and the quality is so great! I can't wait to start filling them up!!!
Check her out, really you won't be disapointed!
member erin317 on etsy.com has waffle robes she'll monogram and they are $36.00. These are a definite option for my bm's.
Elisalou.com also does totes you can pick the fabrics on and customize them, slightly pricey, but i know if you email her she'll give some sort of discount for bridal parties. Not sure if I'll just make totes myself (i love to quilt and sew) or if I'll go this route.
Also, I'm going to be getting all my jewelry from redotdesigns.com since I love all her designs and they're fairly good prices and you can choose what colors too! Beyond that I'm not sure what I'll be doing :)
Good luck with your choices, I'm sure whatever you do they'll love!
I'm doing travel mugs (monogrammed) probably from etsy - that's the one thing I can think my 6 have in common - coffeehouse time.
Jewelry to wear on the day of - I'm not pretending they'll love it forever.
My sister embroidered handkerchiefs and gave us jewelry.
Another wedding I got a "pink" bag - pink journal, pink shoe bag, starbucks card, bracelet, etc. It was definitely fun to open - I love a bunch of little stuff!
Go visit designhergals.com. They do super customized stationary and tote bags. It's really fun just to play around with.
I have a tie between two gifts I've received as a bridesmaid that I would rank as my favorite -
1 - A chram bracelet. Each girl had three charms that represented her relationship/memories with the bride, and of course one that was wedding related. I LOVE IT!
2 - Cute/Fancy flipflops. It was just a part of the gift. All the bridesmaides got shimmery flipflops to change into at the reception for dancing. I thought it was a great cute gift!
I also never met a tote bag I didn't like :)
I spoiled my girls but got super lucky with prices, too..
I got these denim tote bags that were 75% on sale for $1 each and bought crystal iron-ons (also on sale) from JoAnn Fabrics for less than $1 each...
In the tote, I put:
Reef flipflops in my wedding colors so they could change into that for the reception:

jewelry set through www.kurrently.net - she sold me a necklace/earring/bracelet set for only $35:
towel wraps from Target for the girls to get ready in (I had an airbrush makeup artist who also offered to spray in any tan lines) which were about $12 each:
For those - I got the girls towel wraps in different colors and designs that matched with their personality.
And then, to top it all off, I got them a Coach Wristlet/Clutch (It was removeable so it could go either way) from the Coach outlet stores which ended up being about $40 each:
and got away with spending $100 on each girl :) They were really the best group ever to have as bridesmaids :) For my MOH, I threw in a personalized engraved frame to boot.
I got them all white Victoria Secret robes on sale now...for $40, flip flops ($1.50 from Old Navy) and plan on getting the robes monogrammed in their favorite colors. I'm hoping to get them re-usable bamboo boxes to put everything in it and possibly some small beauty stuff for the day of. I'm hoping to keep it down to $50 a person since I have 7 of them!
Gifts are great! But I think the MOH should get something special apart fro the BM's. Would you consider paying for her hair and makeup the day of the wedding, or even getting her a gift card for a mani/pedi? Something to pamper herself! Depending on your budget.
Good Luck!
I'm ordering monogramed jewelry rolls from an Etsy seller "dogwoodlane" - see the first one she made here http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=7079969
Sally is great to work with and does an incredible job. I'm picking out different fabrics for each girl. Each one is $22 with the monogram.
I got each of my girls a necklace to wear the day of the wedding (which I knew that almost all of them would wear again anyway) and an engraved compact mirror. I chose to make it simple and jus tput each girl's name on the compact (rather than something wedding-related). They all seemed to love them. Good luck! :)
I got my bridesmaids these bags from a website called www.fresh-ink.com They are a little pricey but they have a really cute assortment of bags with matching cosmetic bags. And a really nice pair of earings from Lia Sophia which by the way are having a great winter sale I have 8 bridesmaids so the deal was buy 4 and get 4 half off. So I think the original price of them was $38.
Thanks ladies! I thought about the Reefs, bc I love them myself. Lots of great ideas to choose from! Thanks!
im getting waffle robes (with the BM's first initial), slippers and makeup bags for $40 each from smartypants boutique...
If she's the writer type perhaps some personalized stationery:
These have been pretty popular for BM gifts.
If you're looking at the reefs - I got mine at www.islandsurf.com and get 25% off with the coupon code: 25SPECIAL
I bougght all 3 the same thing. pearl necklaces. I wanted to get them something special, that they would have forever and be classic and timeless pieces. We went right to our jeweler and got a nice deal since we were buying three of them. And i am thinking about getting them a jewelry roll to go with them.
I'm on a budget and have 6 bridesmaids but still want to give them fun things that they will use again. I found Land's End tote bags (size M) in my wedding colors (navy/white) that can be personalized - total is $21.50 per bag. Then I personalized some notecards at VistaPrint.com (fold over note cards with each girls last initial pretty large centered on the card with their first name in a coordinating color across the large initial). Each girl gets a different color scheme. Each set of 10 cards and envelopes was $9. The last item is a set of earrings I found on Esty.com: a pear shaped pear drop. They can wear them to the wedding. earring cost - $5 per pair. Thus, the cost of each gift (tote, notecards, earrings) is $35.50. I am also looking to throw in some travel soap/lotions and maybe a luggage tag. Not too bad for a budget bride!
So far, I have bought them 1)clutches that fit their indiv. styles 2)madame paulette packs, 3)foot petals 4)flip flops for the reception. I have yet to decide between a)monogrammed compact mirrors, b)a unique piece of jewelry for each, or 3) some other amazing find that i have yet to discover.
In an ideal world, I REALLY wanted to give them digital video cameras to fit into the clutches but I can't swing $150 for 3 of those puppies. But for the bride without a budget...who wouldn't want an adorable digital video camera??
shameless plug, but i make jewelry for weddings and would be happy to work with you to design "budget friendly" pieces for your ladies... that they can wear on your wedding day and and enjoy long after the cake is cut!
feel free to check it out via my blog
or my Etsy shop
i'm in the process of uploading items to the shop so there's only a small representation on there currently!
good luck!
I got my girls tote bags from land's end, each was $20 on sale. They're such good quality, I wish I had gotten one for myself! Inside I plan on putting a bottle of wine, a candle, and ???? I don't know, maybe lots of tissue paper? j/k Love the waffle robe idea, but also might do a gift card to their favorite restaurant for them and their hubby.
You can see my post with photos, details and prices of what I got my BM's. two fantastic sources for gifts i bought for them: www.1154lill.com for bags, purses, make-up cases etc (pick your own fabric for each item) and www.dashaboutique.com for unique jewelry (pick your own metals, lenghts, styles etc. great value and prices. and they have a discount if you buy multiples for BM's. GL!
other ideas for individual gifts is to play up to something they love -- music, get concert tickets for the two of you for a show that she'd love...adventure lover -- get a white water rafting trip for the two of you...loves to cook -- a cooking class. you get the idea.
I bought each girl a wrap for the wedding day ($7 at Aldo Accessories), pearl drop earrings ($3 at Aldo Accessories), a lip gloss from VS and one for myself (5 for $20 I believe), a charm for their bouquet (4 for $4 at Michaels), foot petals (with 20% off I was able to get myself one for free, $12.95 each), personalized stationary which I made myself (from leftover cardstock used for our wedding wish bowl, so essentially, free) and a small zipper pouch clutch/makeup bag in a different design for each ($8 each on etsy)... All of which is in a card box, in a different design for each (on sale for I think $2 each? at Michaels).
Total came to about $38 each... and after some hard shopping around, I was able to get them a lot of useful things that I think they will all enjoy on the wedding day, and after :)
I wanted to get my girls something really personal, so I bought each of them a charm bracelt and picked 5 charms that reminded me of them, or from a memory of something we did together. Then the 6th charm was a cowboy boot which I gave to every girl as a reminder of them being in my wedding (since I got married in TX.)
I wrote each one a note explaining each charm & what it meant to me. They LOVED it, all the girls wore them that night after the RD & at the wedding too!
Thanks for the ideas!
I think I want to put together totes for the day of including flip flops (in FL you can't go wrong here) maybe some lotion and stuff in my wedidng colors from Bath and Body works etc (they always have great sales) their jewelery for their dress and then maybe something else small.
If I can find robes for cheap I love all of the pictures of people getting ready with matching outfits on.
I gave my girls Kate Spade clutches, monogrammed robes, flip flops, and a pearl necklace. I think they all loved them. I also did a post on my blog about gift ideas too:

Does anyone have any ideas for bridesmaids/ maid of honor gifts? My MOH is a trooper and is on top of EVERYTHING and I want to show my gratitude, but not sure how. She is a close college friend of mine and I am having trouble finding a gift for her. She is very specific about jewelry and I thought a gift card somewhere might be too informal. I was also thinking to get cute totes and fill them with things they will need for the day of and to put their gift inside.
Any gifts you think might work?
